Baguio Teachers Camp Plans World-Class Football Pitch Before Year-End
Big news for Baguio football.
The Teachers Camp Oval is planned to have a world-class football pitch before the end of the year, with support from the PSC, Baguio LGU, PFF, and FIFA. The project is estimated at โฑ25 million to โฑ30 million.
Once completed, this could become a major home for grassroots football in Baguio, giving thousands of young players a better place to train, play, and dream bigger.
Known for the cool weather that has made it a favorite training ground for athletes, the City of Pines became home to a newly upgraded facility when the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) officially opens the renovated Teacherโs Camp Track and Field Oval on May 16, granting access to athletes and the community alike.
โIโm very happy [with the ovalโs opening]. There are two things. First, for the athletes who can run here againโthe boxers, Muay Thai athletes, track and fieldโฆ Second is the communityโฆ When President Marcos opened up Rizal and PhilSports, there were about two to three thousand people every nightโฆ we will do the same thing here in Baguio,โ PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio said in a mix of English and Filipino.
