The JKA Calamba Team competed in Tagaytay City, Velodrome with a small peak to an international WKF hosted event in the Philippines. With only 1 player with complete gears, she competed for a chance and experience for next even greater events.

We are once again grateful for the continuous support of our Mayor Ross Mayor Roseller "Ross" H. Rizal and Cultural Affairs, Tourism and Sports Development Department - Calamba City in allowing us to train and improve consistently. To Shihan Asido C Nestor in getting us to today. We are also thankful for the organizers of the tournament for such opportunity for our player and in the future.

This event is one of the JKA Calamba Team’s small step for the future in the field of WKF. 3 of our senpais namely Keith Asido, Ren Gabriel Olivarez and Denzel Keneth Dasallas have participated the Coaches Seminar and passed their Coach License to further increase their experience and credibility in Karatedo Sports in WKF🥋. This will give a better opportunity for further participating both national and international competitions in the future!

Our one player, Carleigh Keileen Guevara have also competed in a kumite event which made to Quarter Finals with a very close score of 4 – 5. She may have not gotten the bronze medal, but she has displayed athleticism enough to compete against other national athletes. We commend her improved efforts and pursuit to further improve herself by participating international WKF event.

It may certainly be her first time in competing international WKF event but she is determined to come back stronger and better than ever. We have more things to improve, as winning and losing are both catalysts in triggering the spark and greater will in pushing through greater heights of improvement. Understanding that both of those scenarios offer lessons that we all must recognize as athletes and karatekas alike.

To all parents and students that inquire for joining our team that have not yet started their training sessions.

The JKA Calamba Team have recently started big preparations for the shift of busy months for tournaments and the students' Kyu/Belt Exam this September and October. Preparation for such events require respective training regiments to compete and pass their exams.

In order to provide a focused and proper guided training sessions, we have come into a decision to MOVE the starting sessions of new students that is just about to start their journey in November 7, 2026. This is to ensure that we will be able to train the students with no issues and a leveled corresponding syllabus for the newer students.

4th CavKD - SKIP Karatedo Championship - August 2 tournament held a special meaning for the entire JKA Calamba family.

Following the recent passing of our beloved Shihan Nestor Asido, our athletes chose to step onto the mat with courage and purpose. They knew this was what Shihan would have wanted—to keep moving forward, continue chasing their dreams, and live by the values he instilled in each of them.

This tournament was more than a competition. It was our way of honoring the legacy of Shihan Nestor Asido. Every kata, every kumite, and every medal was dedicated to the mentor who believed in us.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Shihan Nestor C. Asido.

A strong and caring mentor that has strived for carrying the PKF 87’ and JKA Calamba's legacy itself. His passion for Karate and giving opportunities to aspiring karatedo athletes were his greatest gift that he has left us. Forging and molding every kind of student and understanding each of their own situations, made him an outstanding teacher and instructor of our club and team. A value that we all cherish and appreciate for his dedication in pursuing karate even with medical conditions at his later age. We are grateful for his support throughout his whole career and all these years. That is why we respect and love Shihan Nestor so much.

We are once again grateful to Shihan Nestor Asido. Even in his last moments, he has taught us that even in our worst condition, we just have to push through the pain in order to fully live our life. Thank you, Shihan Nestor Asido. The JKA Calamba Family wishes your peace to be a restful and a caring one. Ossu! 🙇‍♂️
