The Philippines will have more than one mixed martial artist to cheer for at Warriors Dream Series 18.

After Kimbert Alintozon's inclusion on the August 29 card was confirmed, his teammate, JR Alejandro, has also been tapped to represent the country at the India-based promotion's event at the CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre in Navi Mumbai.

The 24-year-old is slated to take on hometown favorite Shoaib Khan in a three-round flyweight contest, marking another opportunity to make his presence felt beyond Philippine shores.

The assignment will be his second overseas appearance since producing an emphatic victory under the UAE Warriors banner this past March. Competing against Mohammad Qwai Abzakh, Alejandro scored a first-round armbar submission in a performance that further showcased his grappling prowess.

Known by the moniker "Slick," he carries a 5-2 professional record into the matchup. All five of his victories have come by way of submission, underscoring his reputation as a dangerous finisher whenever the fight hits the mat.

Khan presents another stern challenge for Alejandro. The Indian flyweight also owns a 5-2 mark and will be eager to rebound after dropping his most recent bout in July 2025, with the added boost of competing in front of his compatriots.

Alejandro will be joined by Alintozon, who is set to headline the event against India's Jeko Laishram in another flyweight encounter, giving the Philippines a prominent presence from the opening matches to the night's main event.

Kimbert Alintozon and JR Alejandro are entering the final stretch of their training camp ahead of their competitions on August 29 in Navi Mumbai, India.

Both have already proven that they belong among the country’s best flyweights. But talent can only go so far without the right support behind it.
