This evening, the PNG Triathlon Association held its 2026 Annual General Meeting online, bringing together members to reflect on the yearβs achievements and look ahead to the future of triathlon development in Papua New Guinea.π΅π¬
Discussions focused on annual reporting, provincial development activities, fundraising, and the long-term sustainability of triathlon development programs across PNG.
A key focus was strengthening clear athlete and sport development pathways β from emerging athletes through to high-performance opportunities, alongside pathways for coaches and technical officials.
Further discussions expanded on requirements of βSports Safeguardingβ for Athletes, Coaches, Management, Exec and Officials discussed with new available certificate credentials educational awareness and critical learning available online via World Triathlon Education Hub.
The Association will continue to prioritise opportunities for PNG athletes to gain high-level race experience and development through the Pacific Games, Youth Olympic Games, regional and continental development race camps, cups and championships.
