Wrapping up last week on day 5, we started the day with a valuable meeting with the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF) to enhance the Inclusive program and the sport of Badminton.
The para athletes finished off their training day with medal presentation followed by the team recovery session. We ended the week on a high note. We also acknowledge the support of coach Dhanny Oud who led the para trainings for the whole week with a lot of Badminton skills and techniques, and a lot of lessons learnt.
Thank you to our partners for a productive week Badminton Oceania, Badminton Papua New Guinea, Interplast Australia & New Zealand and Papua New Guinea Gymnastics Federation - PNGGF for ensuring the week came into action. And the Australian Government for their ongoing support through the Team Up program! ๐ธ๐คธ
Day 4 took us into community visits.
We were privileged to have WaterAid Papua New Guinea to join our program as we visited a community in Vabukori village.
This initiative really reflects our mission as a sports for development program, creating meaningful partnerships and bringing important awareness directly to the community level.
We also spent time connecting with the kids, sharing a fun hit session with the team. Despite the challange with the winds ๐
, it didnโt stop the laughter, energy, and great moments.
The program is supported by the Australian Government through its Team Up program.

Day 3 turned up the energy with a workshop that was as fun as it was empowering!
Our para athletes and participants kicked things off with an engaging session from Water Aid and the Interplast Australia & New Zealand along side the National Orthotics and Prosthetics Service (NOPs).
Learning, sharing, and a whole lot of inspiration. Real talk, real impact. ๐

Yesterday, we hosted a meaningful and impactful Inclusive Collaboration Workshop. Bringing together key organisations committed to advancing inclusion in the country.
Representatives from Special Olympics Papua New Guinea, Hook in4 Health, PNG National Sports Institute, Partnerships for Improving Education (PIE), and the Red Cross Inclusive Education Resource Centre participated in this collaborative session.
The workshop created a strong platform for networking and strengthening partnerships within the inclusive development space. It was encouraging to see organisations come together with a shared commitment.
A highlight of the session was the opportunity for participants to observe and actively engage in Inclusive GymBad activities alongside para-athletes. This hands-on experience provided valuable insight into the importance of adaptive sports and inclusive programming, while reinforcing the power of sport as a tool for inclusion and connection.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Australian Government for their continued support through the Team Up Program, which makes initiatives like this possible.
Together, we aim to build stronger collaborations and a more inclusive future.
