8 years reigning Champion Ellio Fiapa’i took 2nd Place this year.

Taitoa after years of watching all the uncles climb the tree, finally had a shot this year, his first time ever competing in the Tu’aro Ma’ohi in Tahiti. You can see the excitement in his face as he reaches the mark. His category was 13-16yrs old and while it was a close race, Ta’ito’a at 13 years old, took 1st place. This same category will be open at Te Moana Nui Games for the youth to try out the coconut tree climb on Saturday, November 7th at Waimea Valley
