Season 16 is ON

Super tough year navigating NBs through Trumps War, The Caroline Benzengi Oil spill on Al Qibliyah Island and various new Operating rules. Excitement is building however as we prepare for our 16th season running the NBs lodges & mechanical workshop, Mothership Notus Temptress and our Fleet of custom built centre consoles.

Thankfully travel routes are fully open and Oman’s legendary hospitality is as welcoming as ever. The oil spill is now well contained and the steady Indian Monsoon winds have thankfully pushed the spill away from our beloved Hallaniyat Islands. We have further added to the NBs experience by building a new fly lodge and expanding our Fleet with another custom build 32’ with both Bow & Stern casting platforms, I look forward to sharing more on that soon.

Head guide Darius Lindsay returns for his 3rd season and our guide team will be made up of New Zealanders and an Argentinian. The crew across the operation bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, certification and professionalism as we strive to continue leading the Sports Fishing Industry in the region.

We have honored all bookings effected by travel disruptions earlier in the year by rescheduling them with no admin fees & full value over the start of the season, effectively absorbing the full financial impact of the war ourselves. There are however a few single slots open across our schedule and anyone looking for a MEGA rate and free to fish over the next few months should email Angela on [email protected], we have both Topwater and Fly Fishing options.

It’s incredible how Bluefin Trevally hunt & time their attack with the surge wash up onto rocks.

Hixon casted his lure pretty much dry when a large wave crashed over a rocky outcrop. I thought he was stuck but as the wave receded drag peeled off his PE3 whip & after an even fight the prettiest of the Trevally family had a quick trophy pic & healthy release.

The late Mark Harris once shared a very interesting Hawaiian marine biology report with me showing that GT & Bluefin are one of few Caranx family to cross breed which would explain the larger, darker models we run into here in Southern Oman 🇴🇲
