Squash Max for 2 September is out now. Good luck everyone.
The Whangarei Squash Club Graded Champs are being held Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th and Friday 25th September (games after 5:30pm).
Open to all grades, men’s and women’s draws:
*A, B, C, D, E, F grades
* Masters (over 35)
*Juniors (under 19)
*Doubles (mixed, women’s, men’s)
Cut-off for grades is Friday 18th September. You can enter multiple draws ie, masters, graded and doubles.

Way to go Amalia and Nami! Helping the NZ schools team win back the Trans-Tasman squash trophy after lending it to the aussies last year 😆. The girls played 10 matches including a couple of doubles games.
The Sunday arvo doubles hits at WSC with the doubles guys came in handy for Nami 👍

Day 3 End of Play….
Well, what a weekend. Some great squash and lots of fun and laughs!
The AD long Champions for the 3rd successive year are Whanganui SC. They beat Tawa 3/1 in the grand final today. Full results are below:

Day 3 Update.
Onto the final rounds. Whangarei 1 managed to finish 3rd in NZ, beating Manurewa 3/1.
Main final on now, currently 1 match all.
No on now, Matt Nation v Matt Green.

End of Day 2 Update:
A great day of squash, fierce competition and outstanding camaraderie from the masters players … oh and what a partaaay …

Squash resumes at 830am at both clubs. The main final is on court 1 at 1230pm - it’s a repeat of the 2025 contest - Tawa SC v Whanganui SC. Presentations will follow the finishing of the 1230pm round - approx 3pm.
There will be a few sore heads and stories tomorrow

Mid Day 2 Update….
The 830am and 11am rounds are now completed, both at Kamo and Whangarei SC. The 130pm round is now in full swing!
The workers are busy setting up the decorations for the 70s themed dinner and function later….
Come down and support the teams if you can. Whangarei 1 are in a big National Masters club Semi final v Tawa (Wellington) starting at 4pm. Club manager - Shelley Kitchen on first …
Up the taniwha … could the AD long cup be coming to the region to add to the “shield” ….

Day 1 over, well probably still going in the club rooms of Whangarei SC!
A great start to the competition today. Some great matches and lots of people catching up over a few beverages and nice kai.
Matches start at the main club and Te Kamo SC at 830am tomorrow. It will be an action packed day with the main semifinals at 4pm; Whangarei 1 v Tawa 1 and Whanganui 1 (current holders) v Manurewa 1.
If you are at a loose end tomorrow pop in to watch sone great squash over a few drinks.
The dinner and function will start soon after the last round of matches finish, so dust off your 70’s glad rags and head down to Whangarei SC…..

National Masters Club Team Championships at our club has kicked off in style ….
Whangarei sc has 3 teams entered, with our no1 team coming in at 3rd seeds. Both our 1st team and 2nd team are on at 630pm tonight, while the Whangarei Ladies team kicks off at Saturday morning at 830am.
Bar and kitchen are open for refreshments and kai.
