Growing up in Kaikohe was cool and today it was so awesome to go home again and watch the Northland Taniwha roll up with the ranfurly shield.
It was extra cool because i got to catch up with mum and dad before hand. Then seeing some old faces from the rugby club from when i was a little kid and teenager growing up was also a pleasure.
I took the Chris Corlett trophy as well as Chris played multiple seasons for Kaikohe so it was a cool experience combining the two coolest trophies together.
Also pretty cool to catch a photo of David 'Hurricane' Haynes with the shield as well....
Love home....

He Tangata He Tangata He Tangata.... Now things have settled in the household from 2 exceptional rugby games over the past 72 hours.... we just want to reflect on the people we get to meet on our journey from old friends, to new friends, current and past NRU representitives, family from all walks of life.
We appreciate meeting and cheering along side each and everyone of you. We even love a bit of banter with opposition supporters.
It makes it more fun we you share the time with others. Do as much as you can whanau because one day our time is up so live life too the fullest!!

The game we look forward to most every year. NORTHLAND vs TARANAKI for the Chris Corlett Trophy.... Chris was one of my best friends and he tragically passed in 2015 but will continue to live through his beautiful girls. The man lived in Taranaki jerseys no matter where he lived in NZ. We will never forget you bro and the trophy continues the legacy and keeps us all together... All the best to the Corlett and Stockman families because we aint goin easy tonight.....

Northland vs BOP in Rotorua... the boys come out like a wet sail and BOP punished us. However we kept to our game plans and after 70mins we were in position to win, but not to be unfortunately, falling short.
Still proud of the efforts.
Also good to see the D squad knuckle down a good comeback win 33-29.
Shout out to the BOP fans for making a good night in the coldest hangi pit ever.
And a huge mihi out to all those Tanifans who made the trip from around the motu. Always awesome seeing a sea (well a creek) of blue the stands and hearing "BLUE"
We go again friday vs Taranaki in what is one of the important matches of the year for me .

No flag today people... Rotorua Stadium apparently doesnt allow any type of flag in. Not even small ones... just seen BOP supporters getting denied too. But thats ok we are here to cheer the boys on.

First up was Classic Taniwha rolling back the clock giving the club invites a good towelling. A few boys still got it... and then the Northland Taniwha played a very good game in front of a good sized and vocal crowd in the warm sun against a good Manawatu team... enjoy the lemonades tonight lads as we are off to tbe hangi pit in Rotorua next week where we dont have a good record.
Was awesome to get a few cards signed by the Manawatu players and having a yarn and even gifting one card to thier coach Wes Clark who was assistant coach for the black ferns to the world cup win in 2022.....
Great day, best stadium, cool people.
