5 Reasons to Get Your Kids Into Jiu-Jitsu
1️⃣ Builds real confidence — through learning skills, solving problems and overcoming challenges.
2️⃣ Teaches resilience — kids learn that struggling, losing and trying again are part of getting better.
3️⃣ Develops discipline — listening, focusing, practising and being accountable become part of training.
4️⃣ Improves fitness & coordination — strength, balance, movement and body awareness develop while they’re having fun.
5️⃣ Creates friendships — training alongside teammates builds connection, teamwork and a sense of belonging.
Here at Vulcan Jiu-Jitsu is much more than learning to grapple. It’s about developing confident, capable and resilient young people💪

A huge welcome to the 12 new members joining our Warriors (13–16 years) class, which is now FULL. This class bridges the gap between our kids' programme and our adult classes, helping our young athletes continue to develop as they grow.

What an awesome day for the Vulcan team at the West Coast Challenge! Both the kids and adults represented Vulcan with so much pride🔥💙
Marcel stepped onto the competition mats for the very first time after only training for 2 terms, against an experienced opponent. He showed incredible courage and never gave up loving every moment.
Luca moved up both a weight class and a belt division but never stopped smiling. He welcomed the challenge with a fantastic attitude and gave it everything.
Bear battled his way through a stacked 10-man bracket, putting on some outstanding performances and only just missing out on a bronze medal.
Jax fought through a series of hard-fought matches to win gold, finishing the day with three wins, all by submission. 🥇
What made me just as proud as their performances was the way they carried themselves. They showed genuine respect, sportsmanship and care towards every opponent checking on them after matches, shaking hands and representing everything we want Vulcan to stand for.
Our adults also had an outstanding day. Coen battled his way to a well-earned silver medal, while Jack and Noah both claimed gold in their divisions. I was also happy to come away with gold in my division and a bronze medal in the King of the West Coast absolute division.
Results are great, but the thing I'm proudest of is the culture we're building. A team that pushes each other, supports one another, competes hard and shows humility and respect on and off the mats.
The future is bright for Vulcan. Onwards and upwards. ⚔️🔥

Why "Forged in Fire"?
In Roman mythology, Vulcan was the god of the forge, where steel was shaped through heat, pressure and time. At Vulcan Jiujitsu, we believe people are shaped the same way. Through live training, challenges, setbacks and victories, we become stronger, more resilient and better versions of ourselves.
