Introducing our SATURDAY + SUNDAY racers🔥 Let’s go team!! Final couple of days for our F45 members competing over the weekend.

Below are their whys:

• Bridget & Anne-Tonia - To challenge ourselves and try something new!

• Erin - I’m entering hyrox AKL for the 2nd time and it’s a personal fitness challenge to myself to beat my time & see how my fitness journey in endurance sport has evolved. It’s not just a physical race but a mentally strong one as well to keep pushing through when you’re extremely fatigued! Bring on AKL 2026 Let’s Go!

• Tammy - I fell in love with this sport last year so and wanted to push again this year! This sport, community and environment is next to none⚡️

• Cam & Kiahli - Hyrox 2026 Mixed Doubles is about inspiring our kids to dream big while we ‘quietly’ compete to see who’s actually fitter (spoiler alert it’s Cam 💀). What could be more fun than stress testing our marriage in a controlled environment? 🤪

Introducing our FRIDAY racers🔥 Let’s go team!!

Below is their “why”:

•Greg - Tracy and I were training hard to smash the mixed doubles but unfortunately Tracy got ill and has struggled to fully recover so I’m doing the race for her, and there’s a sense of representing Whakatane F45 which is super cool so I want to see how I go in the single category. I certainly want to give it a good nudge to test my fitness ability for my age group … I love the event, it was a real blast last year so bring it on like Donky Kong 🦍💪🏽🤙🏽✨️

• Sol - The first time I witnessed Hyrox, I said I’m gonna give Hyrox a go 😁👌 with the help of F45 Whakatane team I am excited and a little nervous to compete in my first Hyrox solo 😁🥵👌

• Johnny - The main reason I entered is wanted something to push my training along and try get me living a healthier life style even if it’s just for a while. So entered last year. Got hindered by injury and “bad life style🤣” so entered again this year to try beat my time and motivate better choices. The secondary reason I entered is because the people that entered, trained together and supported each other at the event were amazing and pretty inspirational. It’s a great group to be apart of so I wanted in again this year. I’m looking forward to seeing everybody’s results.

• Kristie - My why is very simple. I like to live on the edge of trauma so I feel alive 🎶 ✨️ And push myself with everything I do.

• Toby - Because Kristie said I had too so I said yes💀

It’s Official … HYROX AUCKLAND 2026 is finally here🔥 And F45 Whakatāne has some amazing individuals taking part so we wanted to give them a shoutout! We are all so incredibly of everyone who stepped up and wanted to challenge themselves by competing🙏🏽 LESSHGGOOOO!!

First up is our Thursday Racers!!! Below is also their “why” as to why they have decided to do Hyrox this year:

• 3 G3n3rations - Better lead by example; can’t run a gym and not take part 🤣🤣 And we’ve been training and competing in things together for years, even generations! 3 generations of us in the Jan touch tourney, national surf comp, national Maori touch and now Hyrox!

• Rach - This year is all about intention. I’m so ready to get out there and give it everything with my amazing teammate, Bethan. 🙌 Mahi tahi in action!

• Bethan - I’m taking on HYROX Wāhine Doubles Aotearoa 2026 because I’m always up for a challenge. I live by the idea of getting 1% better every day, and honestly, HYROX felt like the perfect way to bank the year 😅 The training, the goals, the hype, the vibe, and the friendships you build along the way are all pretty awesome side effects too. Karawhiua e hoa mā—come give it a go!

• Dani & Kiki - Our reasons for doing hyrox is, just to tick it off our bucket lists and to be amongst the atmosphere 😅

• Tai - My ‘why’ is my family - I want my babies (current and unborn 🤰) to look back later and think that if their Mumma can achieve HYROX, they can do anything they put their minds to ❤️

• Kimi - I wanted to push myself a bit more from doing relays last year! Hyrox is a vibe! And even better when doing with the best people! ❤️

• Char - To prove to ourselves that we can do ALL things by just believing in ourselves 😊

• Penni - Love the hyrox community, vibe, all shapes, sizes and ages. Hyrox will humbly test my own taniwha/mental strength 💪 and endurance. Totally gonna smash my time next year 2027💪
