On Saturday we went down to a solid Cripples outfit, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Div 1 Final.

While the result hurts, we can all be incredibly proud of how far this team has come. From finishing second-to-last last year to finishing 3rd this season and making a Div 1 semifinal for the first time in 22 seasons.

This is just the beginning. We’ll keep building, keep improving and be back next season hungry for more.

For now, our attention turns to Whanganui Tour and our game on 22 August 😤

Congratulations to Ed “Major” Griffiths on reaching an incredible 350 games for RPG vs The Cripples on 25th July.

Since first pulling on the Righteous Brothers jersey in 2003, Major has become a true club legend. A tough-as-teak prop who always puts his head where it hurts. While he firmly believes he can play every position on the field, he’s built his legacy in the front row and is still right in the thick of it today.

Beyond the field, Major is our Club Chairman, a mentor to countless players, and someone who has helped shape the club for over two decades. He’s played alongside generations of teammates—some of whom weren’t even born when he debuted—and continues to lead by example every Saturday.

350 games is a remarkable achievement and a testament to your dedication, loyalty and passion for this club.

Congratulations, Major. Here’s to many more Saturdays in the front row. 🍻🏉
