The North City Cricket Club is a District cricket club and the only senior club affiliated to Cricket Wellington covering the Porirua City and Tawa Borough cricket communities. In 1995 the Tawa Cricket Club (founded 1947) and Mana Cricket Club (founded 1975) got together and jointly formed North City as a District cricket team to compete in the newly amalgamated Wellington and Hutt Valley Senior

Do you change your stance vs spin? If you don’t, you could be leaving runs on the table, and batting with more risk than you need to.
Using a forward press and getting low in your stance will help you to get deeper in your crease, which in turn will let you create angles to rotate the strike instead of lunging into a forward defence.
Don’t play a forward defence might seem like an odd cue, but will a proper set-up and footwork, you can take risk out your game and introduce more run scoring options.

It brings me tremendous pleasure to announce that left-arm quick and Certified Big Rig (6ft 4) Ollie Hastie will be joining us while he studies in Wellington.
Ollie has an excellent record at Christchurch Boys High School and finished 2025 with a haul of 15 wickets at 15.87 and an economy of 2.28 - a record that is sure to translate well to Wellington's October and November green tops.
He’s also assured me that he’s a genuine 10 or 11 and won’t be complaining about not batting in the top seven, which resulted in a spontaneous outbreak of joy by the over-hassled selection panel.
