The CSC 2026 scientific programme will run from Thursday 8 October to Sunday 11 October 2026 and will feature thought-provoking lectures and plenaries, outstanding masterclasses, workshops, and practice evaluations. These will be led by a diverse range of internationally recognised experts, including leading voices in Australian and New Zealand anaesthesia.

How great is this sustainability week at Waitematā! Led by Sustainability Fellow Dr Elaine Yip, the week brought staff together around practical ways to reduce their environmental footprint - at work and on the journey there. Highlights included:
☕️ A free coffee when staff brought their own cup, helping avoid more than 3,000 single-use cups.
🚲️ Free bike servicing and two-week bus passes from Auckland City Transport.
🥦 Meat-free Monday.
💤 Setting computer sleep modes to 10mins of inactivity – across a large organisation, reducing unnecessary computer energy use can add up.
🌿 A Sustainability Grand Round that explored opportunities to reduce healthcare’s environmental impact while maintaining safe, high-quality care.
🗑️ And a webinar supporting the Gloves Off campaign, which promotes reducing unnecessary use of non-sterile gloves—helping minimise waste while reinforcing appropriate infection-prevention practice.
