A huge congratulations to Julia Gluyas, Riana Pho and Finn Ward on their selection to the Vantage Black Sticks squads for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup! π³πΏπ
The Black Sticks Men and Women will head to Belgium and the Netherlands this August to compete against the world's best.
This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the dedication, hard work and commitment each of you has shown throughout your hockey journey. Representing New Zealand on the world stage is something to be incredibly proud of, and Wellington is thrilled to see three of our own pulling on the black shirt.
Best of luck to Julia, Riana and Finn as you take on the world's best at the Hockey World Cup. The entire Wellington Hockey community will be behind you every step of the way! ππ€π³πΏ

Build the skills that matter when the pressure is on!
As we head into playoffs, finals and representative tournaments, Wellington Hockey is excited to be hosting a Conflict Management & De-escalation Workshop, facilitated by Max Wallace, an experienced umpire and member of the Wellington Hockey Officials Working Group.
This practical, interactive session will provide real-world techniques to help you:
β’ Manage difficult conversations
β’ De-escalate conflict in high-pressure situations
β’ Communicate confidently and effectively
β’ Foster a positive and respectful environment across our game
While the workshop has been developed with officials in mind, it is open to the entire Wellington hockey community. Whether you're an official, coach, player, team manager, club volunteer or parent, these are valuable skills that can make a real difference both on and off the field.
Wednesday 29 July
6:00pm to 7:30pm
National Hockey Stadium Pavilion
Pizza will be provided after the workshop. Register by Tuesday 28 July via the link below to secure your place and assist with catering.
