A great weekend away for our Wellington Masters crews at the Blue Lake Regatta!
It sounds like there was plenty of racing, good times and great team spirit across the weekend. Unfortunately, the wind had other plans, with racing on Sunday cancelled — but that didn’t stop the crews from making the most of the weekend!
A huge congratulations to everyone who made the trip, got out on the water and represented Wellington. It’s fantastic to see our Masters athletes continuing to get out there, race hard and enjoy everything that rowing has to offer.
Well done to all involved, and thanks to the coaches, supporters and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the weekend happen. 👏

A huge thank you to the Wellington Rowing Association for an awesome winter of training, racing and camaraderie! 🚣♀️❄️
It was a shame to see the Grunt cancelled due to the weather forecast, but that didn’t stop our winter athletes from getting together for a BBQ this morning to celebrate what has been a fantastic three programmes — Row for Life, Row for Gold and the Winter Hub.
It’s been awesome seeing athletes from across the region come together, challenge themselves and support each other throughout the winter. A special moment this morning was seeing the Row for Life athletes presented with their tops, with the wider squad there to cheer them on. 👏
A massive thank you to Jaimie, Denzell, Jono, Kate and Michelle, and to all the coaches, clubs and supporters who have given their time, equipment and facilities to make these programmes possible. Your collaboration and commitment to supporting our crews is hugely appreciated.
And of course, a big congratulations to all the athletes who have put in the work over the winter — you should be proud of what you’ve achieved! 💪
With the winter programmes now wrapped up, attention turns to the Interprovincial squad, which will be selected later this week.
Thanks again to everyone who has made this such a great winter for Wellington rowing. 💙
