Last night was a spectacular evening at the Δ€ti Awa Toa Wellington Regional Sports Awards. πŸ†

A huge thank you to all the AIM parents, athletes, families and supporters who came along to celebrate and support Simon as a finalist for Coach of the Year.

Being recognised alongside coaches from across Wellington’s sporting community was a special achievement, but what made the night even more meaningful was having the AIM family there.

The recognition reflects what we are building together. A high-performance athletics environment where young athletes can develop, compete, grow in confidence and learn what it means to commit to something bigger than themselves.

Over the past season, the AIM programme has produced 38 championship medals, three #1 national rankings, two Athletics Wellington records, national titles and international success, across athletes competing from sprinting through to distance events.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

The real achievement is the people behind them. The athletes who turn up. The parents who support them. The families who make the commitment. The teammates who push each other. And the community that continues to believe in what AIM is building.

To everyone who stood alongside us last night, thank you. This recognition belongs to all of you.

We are only getting started. πŸ’™

πŸŒŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ AIM HOLIDAY TRAINING CAMP | SANDS SESSION πŸ–οΈ

BEYOND THE SHADOWS...

Champions aren't built when everything is easy. They're built when they're willing to embrace the elements, trust the process, and put in the work together.

Yesterday our AIM athletes traded the track for the beach at Waikānae, where every stride through the sand demanded more strength, balance, power, and resilience. Training on sand challenges the body in ways the track never canβ€”and that's exactly why we do it.

Beyond the session itself, these moments are about something bigger. They build friendships, confidence, leadership, and a culture where every athlete pushes each other to become better than yesterday.

One team. One vision. One standard.
The journey to the 2026/27 season continues... and we're only just getting started. πŸ”₯πŸ’™

πŸƒ NZSSAA XC Championships 2026

This weekend, two of our AIM athletes head to the start line at the NZSSAA XC Championships.

πŸ”Ή Ovin Angammana β€” 3K Race & XC Wellington Relays
πŸ”Ή Mia Thomson β€” 3K Race & XC Wellington Relays

Both have just began their preparation for the upcoming track season and the mental work to be ready for this level. Proud of how far they've come this season and their development β€” this weekend is simply a moment to compete hard along with some of NZs top XC athletes.

Go well, Ovin and Mia πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ”₯
