Brrr… the pool is definitely feeling a little cooler as winter arrives!
To help keep our Learn to Swim swimmers warm and comfortable during their lessons, children are welcome to wear a wetsuit in the pool.
Thanks to our awesome friends at Second Suits https://www.secondsuits.org, we have a container of wetsuits available at the pool for families to use. If your child would benefit from wearing one, please feel free to ask.
We’re also always grateful for donations. If you have any children’s wetsuits at home that no longer fit, we’d love to give them a second life and pass them on to another young swimmer.
Thank you for helping us keep our tamariki warm, comfortable, and enjoying their time in the water this winter!
2nd Suits | Giving wetsuits a second life
We aim to give wetsuits a second life and enable less fortunate kiwis to live a better life through connection with the ocean.

Clem on the left is one of our awesome Learn to Swim Coaches, she's off the Turkey next month to represent NZ for Under Water Hockey, she's got a Give a Little Page if anyone has anything spare to give, the trip is all self funded so I know she would appreciate any help she can get! https://tinyurl.com/y9m3ment

Fantastic work by one of our awesome athletes Grace! Coached by Carol each week, great results team!
Grace, who trains with the Kowhai Swimming Club, won two silver medals in the 25-metre and 50-metre backstroke events, along with a bronze medal as a key member of the 4x25m freestyle relay team.
She's hoping to get to the 2029 Special Olympics, her goals for the Games are ambitious – she wants to qualify for the 100m freestyle and hopes to claim a medal in every event she enters, as well as at least one gold!
We wish you all the best Grace!
