Biathlon Buddies!

There's no snow yet.... but that didn't stop current Olympic Champion Fabien Claude (FRA) from dropping in to see us in Wanaka!

Fabien and his fiancee Maria have been travelling around New Zealand on a road trip, and they decided to drop in and see where Campbell is from. And...being a professional biathlete he couldn't quite stop himself from getting a bit of range practice in and gave the Wanaka Biathlon Club members some fantastic instruction.

Fabien also took to our local roads for a roller ski session. He reported "super cool road, no cars, asphalt ok". We are impressed!

This year's major Biathlon Australia races have been announced. Of key interest to us here in New Zealand is the IBU Oceania Cup on 8-9 August. This event will be a chance for Kiwi and Aussie athletes of all age groups to compete for the Oceania title!

The event is to be held at Whisky Flat, Mt Hotham, Victoria and it is recommended to fly to Melbourne and then stay at Omeo if you are intending to take part. Full details available from BNZ's Tim David.

We are gearing up for an incredible season on the snow. Please check your inboxes for a detailed welcome email containing important information and your membership payment details.

Stay Connected
We coordinate everything through our Newsletter and WhatsApp group. If you are not on these lists yet, send us a message ASAP so we can add you.

Key Dates & Upcoming Events
Sunday 12 July: First formal sessions begin! (Exact times and programme details coming soon).

Pre-Season: Working Bee and Open Range activities are happening before July 12th. Keep an eye on WhatsApp for dates—any help getting the range ready is massively appreciated!

Student Members: Details for the Wednesday coaching programme and Mt Aspiring College (MAC) coordination are on the way.

Safety First
Before anyone hits the range, all members (including students) must view a range orientation briefing. We will email this information out before our first session.

Membership & Programme Fees

Check your email for your specific invoice breakdown. For reference, here is an example of a family registration package:

2026 Family Membership: $150
150 Rounds of Ammo: $50
2 x Season Rifle Rentals ($80 each): $160
Total: $360
