We’re Hiring!

We’re looking for a full time person to join us at Kinisi Running in Wānaka.

Kinisi Running is a little different to your average outdoor shop. We’re here because we genuinely love running and the community that comes with it. The people we meet, the conversations we have, the runs we share and the connections that happen on our couches are a huge part of what makes us who we are.

From someone buying their first pair of running shoes to someone training for their next ultra, we care about getting the right gear on the right person and making the whole experience welcoming. But we also want KR to feel like a place people come to because they know they’ll see a friendly face, have a good chat and feel part of something bigger.

We’re looking for someone who gets that.

Someone who loves running. Someone who enjoys talking to people and making them feel welcome. Someone who is curious, switched on and keen to learn. You don’t need to know everything about running shoes, but you do need to be interested in them, interested in people and willing to get stuck in.

The role is full time and based in our Wānaka store.

There’ll be plenty of shoes, gear, product knowledge and customer conversations, but also all the other things that come with running a small independent business. We’re a small team, so being reliable, proactive and happy to pitch in matters.

And yes, being able to talk running for an unreasonable amount of time is probably an advantage.

Sound like you?

Send your CV and a little bit about yourself to [email protected]. Or if you’re already in Wānaka pop into the shop!

Tell us why you think you’d be a good fit. We’d much rather hear from an actual person than read a perfectly polished cover letter.

Cross Training

While we’re all patiently waiting for the snow to arrive you might as well get all your ducks in a row!

This is the third year of our joint venture with Snow Farm NZ and the Mary Lee with a huge success over the last two years.

Learn or perfect your cross country skiing abilities over four sessions. We’ll start with classic and then continue on to skating if that’s where you want to get to with the ultimate goal being participation in the Merino Muster.

Let’s get that ball rolling again! Sign up via the link in our bio or directly on the SnowFarm website to secure your spot.

The Why

We get asked a lot about the reason behind Kinisi Running. Many people still think that it must be too niche to be successful, to be taken seriously.

The truth is we actually believe the opposite. We believe that focusing on a specific activity is the way to offer our community the best possible support. This way we can focus in depth on all things running and serve a community that has been often forgotten about or just crammed into a corner somewhere.

Turns out more isn’t always better and that’s the motto we live by. And we’d like to think that the community we have given a place would agree with us on that.

Drop us a comment if you agree!
