Loved our foundational practice on Melodie’s and Peter’s workshop/ retreat in Bali couple months ago.. Here Virabhadrasana one practice for opening hips and chest by deepening back leg buttock crease and extending back leg heel down and keeping torso upright.

Rope Sirsasana feels super nice when pelvis is lengthening and there is no arching in lower back at all.

Many congratulations to Jaki Nett and Eric Small, two esteemed and beloved faculty members of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles. The Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States (IYNAUS) recognized their many years of service with the Lighting the Way award at the Cultivating Freedom Convention in Philadelphia. Both teachers, direct students of BKS Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar, have given selflessly. Eric has also been recognized for his work supporting people with multiple sclerosis and mobility conditions. Jaki teaches and mentors with a strong focus on functional anatomy. Teaching, guiding, supporting, they have transformed the lives of countless people. Eric, at the age of 93, continues to teach weekly at our institute. Jaki teaches online and comes to LA in person regularly. Their commitment, dedication, and wisdom is an inspiration.
