Very proud to be supporting the great work of the Upper Clutha Tracks Trust on the new ‘True Right’ trail. Alongside trail donations, offsetting our carbon through tree planting on our trails, ongoing support for Up-Cycles and encouraging people to ride their bikes more we also have an ambition to fund a million 🐝 across the trails in the next decade to help pollinate the trails under our ‘ 🐝 Brilliant’ campaign.

Giving back to the community is a key part of what we aim to do.

‘ 🐝 Brilliant’ started with our first hive this year and should steadily increase across the coming years. We hope to raise more money for the trails through this initiative as we get the foundations of the scheme in place.

If you are coming to visit Wānaka - in Winter or Summer - this ride is a great way to see the beauty around you of both Wānaka and Hāwea.

nzbiketrails shuttles you out from Central Wānaka to Lake Hawea, shows you the route on the way out, share a little history and then you ride back along the river trails to Wānaka - These are Grade 1-2 'Family Friendly' Trails. When we ride the trail, and arrive in Wānaka, we will often continue riding around the Lake past and then go for a drink in the Garden Bar of the Edgewater Hotel where the views are just outstanding. Whichever shuttle to Hawea you take - 0900hrs, 1030hrs or 1230hrs - then providing the bikes are back by 4pm at the pickup point you can explore as much as you want to.

Lake Wānaka is the highest I’ve seen it for a while. The trail riding and scenery is just stunning at the moment surrounded by snow capped Mountains with temperatures in the high teens by the end of the day.

Whenever I ride these trails I always try and leave time for a drink at my two favourite spots in Wānaka - the first is a short ride pass the Wānaka Tree to stop at the Edgewater Hotel Garden bar which is just so peaceful and serene. My other favourite spots is to pop around to Pembroke Wines, lounge on their sofas and enjoy a craft beer with a cheese or Charcuterie platter. We are so lucky to live or visit here. Let the smiles keep rolling on.

What a beautiful day on all of our trails today. Selection of photos from our ‘Best of the Queenstown Trails Ride’ - 36km between Kinross and Arthur’s Point. Absolutely stunning views. It’s great when you are working with other Team members and you can take in more. A fantastic day across all of our trails. Small diversions on a couple of them but nothing major.

No better way to see more of the wider Queenstown area and next year we will also be riding the Kawarau Gorge to Carrick Winery from ‘vibe to vine’

Today was an absolute ‘washout’ with heavy rain all day. The nzbiketrails team hit the phones first thing this morning, contacted all of our riders and either moved their ride to other days, other trails to match their travel plans or we just refunded them.

This is where our ‘Do the right thing’ policy comes into place.

If we were on holiday this is how we would expect to be treated. It’s easier to manage if it is booked directly but for us we think it’s the right thing to do.

Our team spent the day catching up on jobs to do (in the dry!)

We sometimes get guests who love to ride whatever the weather is- ‘David, Mum and Dad are looking after the kids and we just want to get away for the day!’ We don’t care what the weather is doing!’. Providing it’s safe we will support it!

Providing they have ridden a normal bike we will get them set up and ready to ride on these bikes. 8 years+ on Wānaka & Hāwea Trails and Queenstown Trails. 10 years+ on all other trails.
