Why see pickleball and tennis as either / or, have them as AND. Pickleball helped me recover from an achillis tear that took me away from my first loves of badminton and tennis. In a country with few indoor tennis courts, Pickleball is perfect for off season fitness and keeping your eye in. Keep on pickling and playing tennis, they are mutually complimentary! Come along to Waiuku Pickleball club Wednesday nights 6pm to 8pm, indoor at Waiuku College Gym. And keep fit for the summer tennis season and outdoor pickleball from September. See you on both courts soon.

A really awesome local write up in DearFrankie the Franklin newsletter on Pickleball. Features Waiuku Pickleball club and Pukekohe club. Check it out and then head down to your own courts tomorrow Sunday 12pm to 2pm for a hit, as the weather looks great. Or come earlier to have a tennis hit and then warm down with some Pickleball, that's what a few of us are doing. Members hit first time for free to give it a try, and then $10 pay as you play subsequent weeks. But when you renew your club membership you will have access to the pickleball courts, and hopefully by then the club will have permanent pickleball nets, LED lighting for night play etc.
