Big ups to all the teams battling it out in Tauranga, adjusting to the modified format and conditions. Adverse weather and the anticipated arrival of
Cyclone 🌪 Vaianu resulted in the tournament being condensed into two days.

Our Bears have taken the field for their final game against our friends and whānau from Central Sports Makos 🦈, the 2024/2025 16U Summer Showdown National Champs.

With both clubs fielding teams new to the 16U grade, its been great to compete. Always awesome to play teams from around the motu!

All the best to the teams still hoping to get a game in before 1pm, and safe travels home to one and all!

The sun’s taken a short sabbatical and seems to have got itself lost in Auckland 🤷‍♂️ so we’ve asked it nicely to head back to Tauranga and chase the rain away so our 16U Bears can get out on the diamond and enjoy the 2025/2026 Summer Showdown (Club Nats).

The team has drawn the early card with a 7:30am start and first ups at 8:30am.

We’ll be backing you (and the ☀️) from home. Bring the energy, play hard, and enjoy every moment out there with your mates.

📣 Let’s Get Behind Our Waitākere Bears 16U!

The team are at Mitre 10 Lincoln Road today from 9am–3pm raising funds to help them get to Tauranga for the Summer Showdown (Club Nationals) next week.

This talented group are your 2024/2025 14U National Champions 🏆 and head into this tournament as one of the younger sides. This team has plenty of grit, skill, and heart!

If you’re nearby, get on down, say hi, and show your support. Buy a sausage, or 10 😁 as every coin helps get these players on the field.
