Schools given chance to perform alongside Stan Walker through new ‘Family Tree’ challenge
Stan Walker (Tūhoe, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pūkenga, Tūhourangi, Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāi Tahu) is inviting kura from across Aotearoa to bring his new waiata, ‘Family Tree’ to life - with two schools set to win the ultimate opportunity to perform live alongside one of the country’s biggest stars.
Kura have been challenged to create their own rendition of the track ‘Family Tree’ from Disney’s Moana: Voices Across the Ocean and upload their performance to social media for the chance to win.

Ready, get set, go fishing: grab your fishing licence and dive into new resources
Fishing licences are on sale today as anticipation builds for the upcoming season, and this year anglers have a new resource to help them make the most of it.
"Today is an exciting day in the diary for keen anglers," said Fish & Game New Zealand chief executive Corina Jordan.
"The season opens on October 1, so we’re encouraging anglers to grab their licence early and get on with sorting their gear, lining up trips with mates and digging into our new resources.”

dān dān turns everyday meals into stories of identity on debut EP ‘songs about food’
Tāmaki Makaurau-based soul-food singer-songwriter dān dān's debut EP ‘songs about food’ arrived 14 August.
‘songs about food’ is a bilingual English and Mandarin EP about family, identity, and growing up between cultures, with food doing the heavy lifting as the medium of storytelling. Across seven tracks, dān dān (she/they) traces food as culture, family, whakapapa, and the quiet language of love: the story of ancestry that survived on very little, and a generation that gets to make art in abundance.
