🚨 EMERGENCY WARNING: BURGER & TRIVIA DEFICIT IMMINENT 🚨
There are officially 48 hours left to register for the Prizegiving, Quiz & Burger Night.
If you do not register in the next two days:
Your carb-loading privileges will be revoked.
You will not be allowed to argue about trivia answers you were 100% wrong about anyway.
You will miss seeing people in actual, real-life human clothes instead of tight lycra. (Spoiler: Some of us have hair under our helmets!)
Whether you’re coming to collect hardware, drag down your quiz team’s average IQ, or just aggressively eat a burger while judging other people's race tactics, we need your headcount NOW.
Hard Deadline: 2 Days. No exceptions, no "can I just pay at the door," no sad eyes.

🚨 MOST WANTED: KCC WINTER SERIES CHAMPIONS 🚨
Police were called, but it turns out these five weren't taking part in a police lineup—they’re just the official grade winners of Winter Series Race 4, proudly showing off their leader jerseys (and their best suspect faces).
The points are officially locked in! Check where you landed on the final leaderboard here: 👉https://events.barefootsport.co.nz/event/2757/results

🌶️ SHORT, SPICY, AND ABSOLUTELY NO MERCY! 🌶️
Race 3 of the Winter Series is officially in the books, and wow—yesterday’s course truly lived up to its "short and spicy" title. Which we now realize was just race committee code for "your lungs will burn, your legs will turn to jelly, and you will spend the entire afternoon questioning your life choices." 🚴💨
The absolute highlight of the day was seeing the incredible turnout of young riders out there tearing up the tarmac!
Special shoutout to D Grade, where the youth takeover is now officially complete. Two 13-year-olds took out 1st and 2nd place! 🏆🥇🥈
Nothing quite builds character like getting absolutely gapped on a sprint by someone who wasn't even alive when your bike was built. Massive congrats to those two legends, Sam and Jagger! We’d ask them their secret to recovering so fast, but they’ve probably already smashed two juice boxes, finished their homework, and ridden another 50km. Meanwhile, the rest of us are still trying to unclip without our calves cramping up. 😂
Huge thanks to all our volunteers, marshals, and coffee providers who kept us safe and caffeinated!

Rest those legs, soak in the Epsom salts, and we’ll see you all back out there for the final round in a week! 🚴♂️🚴♀️⚡

🏆 WINTER SERIES RACE 2 RESULTS ARE FINALLY LIVE! 🏆
Huge thanks to everyone for your patience while we pieced together the finish line puzzle! It turns out our timing tags are 100% waterproof, but the heavy doses of "liquid sunshine" seemed to make a few of them completely invisible to science. 🌧️🚴♂️
After some detective work, manual cross-referencing, and minimal arguments, the official times are in the books.

🚨 RACE UPDATE: NEW START TIME! 🚨
Good news, KCC crew! We are pushing tomorrow’s race start back to 2:00 PM (instead of 1:00 PM) so we can completely dodge the rain, which is forecast to clear right at 1:00 PM.
That means extra sleep-ins, dry roads, and zero soggy chamois!
🚴 Haven't Entered Yet?
The excuses are officially gone. Sleep in, grab some brunch, and come join us for a glorious afternoon of racing in the sunshine.

☀️ KCC Winter Series Race 2 - UPDATE: PERFECT WEATHER GUARANTEED (Sort of...) 🚴♂️💨
The forecast is currently doing its usual chaotic dance, but our chief amateur forecaster has looked deep into the tea leaves, checked his left knee, and officially declared Saturday's weather: Flawless. (Ignore the clouds, he says they are just dramatic effect).
We are sitting on a very healthy 50+ entries across the grades, and good grief, C-Grade is an absolute block party with 20 riders already signed up! If you want to get spat out the back of the biggest bunch on the coast in style, this is your moment.
Don't let FOMO ruin your weekend lie-in. Get your name on the sheet before 5pm tomorrow!

Winter Series Race 2 is THIS SATURDAY! 🚴💨
Lace up, pin on your numbers, and l**e those chains—Round 2 is go!
We’re rolling out the NEW Hybrid Course (tested and approved at Club Champs). The best news? We’ve stripped out TWO barrel turns per lap, meaning no dropping anchor, no grinding back up to speed, and zero excuses! Just smooth, fast, and flowing bitumen. 🙌
The Deets: 📍 Start: The Hall 🚀 Route: Left onto Ōtaki Gorge Rd ➡️ Left onto Old Hautere Rd (loop to the true bottom) ➡️ Back to the Hall. 📏 Distances: • A & B: 3 laps (~54km) – Time to dig deep! • C, C Femmes, D & E: 2 laps (~36km) – Pure, high-octane racing.

Winter isn't going to warm itself up—see you on the start line! 🔥
09/07/2026
The Kapiti Winter Series kicks off this Saturday, and the forecast for Te Horo is looking so good, it’s practically suspicious.
If you haven’t entered yet, stop procrastinating and click https://www.kapiticyclingclub.co.nz/viewform/505624 to register now.
We’ve got graded racing from A to E, plus our dedicated Femmes C grade—because why should the guys have all the fun?
Why should you show up?
The Racing: It’s our classic Te Horo course. A and B Grade, prepare to be "rewarded" with a little extra sting in the tail—a cheeky climb all the way to the Kaitawa Road Bridge. Don't worry, the view is great, even if you’re seeing stars.
The Rewards: We have generous spot prizes, which is code for "there's a high chance you’ll win something cool for just showing up."
The Post-Race Fuel: Complimentary tea, coffee, and bikkies at the Te Horo hall. Nothing says "peak athlete" like inhaling a packet of biscuits immediately after a race.
Click below for the course maps (so you know exactly where to suffer).

See you Saturday for some sunshine and, presumably, some lactic acid.
