🏉💙 WAIHI TOUCH 2026 — REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 💙🏉

We’re getting ready for another awesome season of Waihi Touch, and registrations are officially OPEN! 🙌

📅 YEAR 7 & 8 THROUGH TO SENIOR MIXED
Season starts Wednesday 14 October 2026 and runs for 8 weeks.

🎉 NEW THIS YEAR — YEAR 3 & 4 GRADE!
We’re excited to introduce a dedicated Year 3 & 4 grade. Schools entering teams in this grade must provide a manager/coach who will officiate the games.

GRADES:
• Year 3 & 4
• Year 5 & 6
• Intermediate (Year 7 & 😎
• Social Mixed
• Competitive Mixed

📝 REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

All teams, players and referees must be registered through Sporty.

✅ Every team must register with a referee.
✅ Referees will officiate either the round before or round after their team’s scheduled game.
✅ All teams must have a team manager.
✅ Teams must nominate a playing uniform colour and have numbered uniforms or bibs.
✅ Teams must have a minimum of 5 registered players on the field.
✅ Players may only be registered to ONE team no team hopping!

We will have numbered playing bibs available to hire on game nights at $10 per night (these do not go home with the team)

👩 MIXED GRADE RULES

For Year 7 & 8 / Intermediate and above mixed grades:
• A minimum of 3 female players must be on the field at all times.
• A try scored by a female player is worth 1 point.

⚠️ DEFAULT FEE

We are introducing a $20 default fee this season.

We understand things happen, but last-minute defaults have made it extremely difficult to find fill-in referees. We’re hoping to eliminate this issue this season.

If your team needs to default, you must notify the committee via email or Facebook Messenger at least 24 hours before the game.

❌ Failure to provide notification will result in a $20 default fee, which must be paid before your team’s next playing game.

Intermediate & above: $140 per team
Primary school grades: $10 per player

Please remember that Waihi College is a smoke and vape-free school. 🚭

🌭 CANTEEN
The canteen will operate 3:30pm–5:30pm with cash and bank transfer available.
The menu may change from time to time and will be updated regularly.

🔗 HOW TO REGISTER

Schools: Register your teams through your school’s Sporty login via Waihi Touch, then ensure all players are registered through Sporty.

Clubs & social teams:
If you don’t have access to Sporty, your team coordinator can register the team and a team registration link will be emailed to them, allowing all players to register through the link. Please email [email protected] to register a team now.

Our U10 Girls & U10 Boys teams need coaches for the 2026–2027 Representative Season.

At this age, it’s simple — grow the love of the game, build confidence, have fun and give our tamariki the opportunity to play and represent Thames Valley.

But without coaches, these teams cannot go ahead.

To support new and aspiring coaches, TVT is introducing a Coach Mentor Programme — providing guidance, on-field support and training assistance to help you grow your coaching confidence and touch knowledge.

You don’t have to know everything. You just need to be willing to step forward. 🙌

🏉 TVT REPRESENTATIVE TRIALS 2026–27

The pathway starts here.

Thames Valley Touch is excited to announce our 2026–27 Representative Team Trials, with trials taking place on Sunday 13th and Sunday 20th September at Paeroa Centennial Park.

Trials will be held across our Under 10 through Under 18 age groups, providing players with an opportunity to challenge themselves, develop their skills and be considered for selection into the Thames Valley Touch Representative Programme.

Players can expect a positive and challenging environment focused on skill development, teamwork, game understanding, effort and performance.
