Timaru Kyokushin Karate is a member of New Zealand Karate Organisation Kyokushin Kaikan Inc which is affiliated to the International Karate Organisation headed by Kancho Shokei Matsui based in Japan with over 10 million members in 120 countries around the world. The Timaru Dojo is situated halfway down the East coast of New Zealand's South Island and was established in 1995.
