A huge thank you to Cath Preen, who has stepped down as convenor of our Sixes programme after many years of giving her time, energy and encouragement to it.

Cath has played a big part in helping so many people take their first steps into golf. For many of our Sixes players, she has been one of the first friendly faces to welcome them, help them learn the game and make them feel at home at Timaru Golf Club.

Sixes has introduced lots of women — and a few men too! — to golf over the years, and Cath should be very proud of the part she has played in making that happen.

Thank you, Cath, for everything you have given to Sixes and to all the golfers you've helped along the way. 💚⛳

And what’s next for Sixes? We’re already working on finding the right person to take the reins from Cath so we can continue to grow Sixes and offer a fun, welcoming programme for anyone wanting to give golf a go.

On Monday we held our Women's 2BBB Tournament in beautiful winter sunshine. It was fantastic to welcome players from 15 clubs, with some outstanding golf and great scores throughout the day.
