Here are the essential details for Primary School Competition player registration and the Basketball Development Levy 😎

What it funds: The nationwide annual levy, implemented since January 1, 2025, funds upgraded digital platforms, virtual training materials, stronger communication, and member perks.

Who pays: All players participating in regular competitions must make a single yearly payment, regardless of how many different teams or competitions they join throughout the year. Coaches, officials, volunteers, and administrators are exempt unless they are also registered to play.

The cost: $5 for players 14 years and younger, $10 for players 15 to 19 years, and $15 for players 20 years and older.

When it is due: Payment can be made at any time, but it is due before you take the court.

How to register: If you are playing in the Primary Basketball Competition, your school coordinator has sent you a registration link to register to your team. Contact them for more information.

Get your squad together for the South Canterbury Basketball Summer League! 🏀

We're hosting a 14-week mixed, social competition on Sunday evenings at Aorangi Stadium! Whether you're representing a school, group, club, business, or organisation all entries are welcome.

📅 Sunday evenings from 1 November to 21 February (includes a holiday break in December/January)
📍 Aorangi Stadium
⛹️‍♀️ Mixed social league! Teams must have at least two males AND two females on the court at all times
💵 $515 per team (paid at time of registration). There is also a BBNZ Individual Player Levy paid during player registration (U14: $5 | 15-19: $10 | 20+: $15)

Registrations are open until 23 October. Payment is required to confirm your registration.

From the 22nd to the 23rd of August, our U14 Girls teams competed in the U14 Girls Preseason Tournament in Gore! They had a great time and produced some awesome results across the weekend.

We had an amazing night of basketball as our Secondary School Competition wrapped up! Eight winners were crowned while incredible skill, passion and teamwork was on display. A huge thank you to all players, coaches, referees and supporters who made this season such a success.
