All packed and ready to leave in the morning! This is a photo of the approach to Buka, northern Bougainville. 3 volunteers flew in yesterday.
There are 13kg top grade blackberries left, and 25kg of blackberry 2nds left in my freezer. Tanya and Bruce will look after the berries while I am away, and Tanya can post on this page.

The lake is stunning. So good for swimming. I have to get my priorities right!

1st row of berries pruned! Earlier than usual because I am heading to Bougainville soon.
There is about 60kg of blackberries in my freezer, and a few kg of boysenberries.
And a few hours later all the boysenberries are gone.....

The end of a slow season. The total is 1962kg, so we didnt make 2 tonne. Ususally we get about 2400kg.
Today there are a few kg of blackberries and boysenberries in my fridge. And there is maybe 60kg in the freezer.

The season total is now over 1700kg, and not too much more to pick. It will all be over in a couple of weeks, then it will be time for me to head off to Bougainville for my VSA assignment. After this cold summer I will try hard not to complain about the heat!!

Lots of raspberries and blackberries at the moment with 60kg picked today.
The golf tournament at the weekend will be feasting on berries.
We are nearly at 1500kg, so it is a long slow season with a few weeks still to go but very few tayberries and boysenberries.
