Boobops Dragon Boat Team

What an amazing couple of days, yesterday we had our 200m races, 1st race we came 3rd in our heat and 2nd in our last heat. Overall we place 46th out of 176 teams. Today as the reserve day we did a 1000m race with 1 turn a first for us but we all left it out on the water and thoroughly enjoyed it. And the flower ceremony was amazing as usual 😍 and Pip Simpkin was nominated by the team to take part in the Sandy Smith memorial race. So much fun was had by all.

The ladies enjoyed a second training on Wednesday, which was held on Lake Annecy. With the gorgeous mountains in the distance, it was truly an amazing thing to experience.

The parade of nations and opening ceremony was an amazing thing to be apart of. Our ladies were selected to take part in the parade of Nations on the water, while Kelly was selected as the official flag bearer for Nz held the flag high and walked in the parade. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the long hot day, which ended with a concert and a boogie.

Well Ladies and Gentleman the Boobops contingent has landed in the absolutely stunning town of Aix-les-Bains, France for the 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France. We had our 1st training session on the race lake today, such a beautiful place to be paddling in and catching up with our pink sisters from all over the world.
