Yikes…this boat is too pretty for me!
We built this as a personal project but it’s too good to hang around in our workshop waiting for Tim to find some spare time to go paddling.
It’s a hybrid build of carbon Kevlar and carbon fibre, so it’s extremely strong, but also relatively light. At 6.4m long and weighing only 13kg it’s an absolute weapon.
Normal rrp $4649, it’s been offered at $3999 as a once only deal. Get in touch if you’re interested.

Heads up folks! I have a factory 2nd Kōtare that’s coming up for sale. This is a fibreglass model so it’s ideal for a beginner. It has a small imperfection in the hull but this doesn’t affect quality or performance…my conscious wouldn’t allow me to give it to the original customer. 20% off normal rrp so get in quick.

TopSport has been a huge supporter of Ruahine so a big thanks to Kate and Len for their continued promotion of the Shadow.
How did two first time competitors nail the paddle at the 2026 Kathman
They learnt to paddle despite the ballot! We get asked it all the time..... Do I really have a chance of getting a spot into the Kathmandu Coast to Coast 2027 Event? The answer to that is of course yes! There is a huge chance you will get a spot. The ballot has been running for a good few years now....

End of an era for Ruahine. After 5 years in Te Puke I am sadly saying goodbye to the workshop, but don’t worry, a new workshop is just being completed on the farm in Welcome Bay and will be up an running over the next few days. More details coming soon…

Merry Christmas from Ruahine. Some big changes will be happening in 2026 and sadly we’re losing our right hand man Leon who’s off to grow his own business. You’ve been instrumental in some big projects mate so thanks for all your hard work, you will be missed. Also a huge thanks to all our amazing customers who have supported us in 2025, now it’s time for a well deserved break.
