Stoked to take this grass thief out of the paddock. Cheers for the new hat rack , always a good time.

Good to use my trout season license finally. Put the netting skills to use, did some photoing and watched put on a masterclass. Great day out with plenty of XL fish to the boat.

Built for chasing down prey, beating the s**t out of it then inhaling it all in the blink of an eye. It’s easy to see why these kingfish have such a thuggish reputation in the shallows.

A s**t hot season is nearing the end but with a lot of warm tropical air mass still pushing down on us there will be more to come. Just need a break in the weather to sneak back into the shallows and snag a few more as they feed up large before winter.

Another cheeky downpour so taking a moment to catch up on some fish from the last while. Still a month and a bit of epic flats action left before they slink off to the depths for winter. Of course they’ll need to feast up so we’re expecting to see some well conditioned fish hounding bait.

Odds were heavily stacked against us, still managed a good stash of prime harbour table fare for our troubles. Sometimes you just need to scratch that itch.

Another year at the Salt fly fest in Bowentown. A quick 24 hr trip to catch up with the crew, see some new faces and watch my mini crew take on some ocean pelagics. Bloody good fun.

A patient game of cat and mouse in the early morning glare, a #8 Bonefish fly getting the goods.
