Here we go whanau

Our PA wars campaign for 2026 has been completed with tikanga and whanaungatanga paving the way.if you followed our journey for this past month we thank you all for your support. One last hurrah this Friday for our prizegiving at Waikari Club e te whanau

3 netball awards, 3 rugby awards, 5 of our whanau will be honored with Blazers and we unveil a new legacy Tautoko taonga in memory of Kuruhake Lux Walker ( carved by his son , Grayson)

It will be a night to remember for sure

We finish our PA WARS season against our Te Patuwai whanau this Saturday August 29th as we hikoi to Whakatane.

***Alert *** the whanau will be unveiling a new taonga to be played between Matapihi and Te Patuwai. Koro Charlie and Nanny Rosie taonga will be unveiled at Pupuaruhe marae 10.30am powhiri

* let's carpool from our kura - depart 8am sharp
( earlier if you plan on heading onto the barge with your vehicle)
* Barge departs Omokoroa 9am ( own cost)
* Whakatau at Opureora marae 9.30am
* Netball 11am
* Rugby 12.30pm
* Speeches & kai 2.30pm
* Barge departs Matakana 4.00pm
* Night cap Waikari karapu with the Warriors

Please be advised parents/ guardians to accompany their rangatahi for the duration of the hikoi to and from Matakana for the safety of All involved

10.00am: Pohiri - Ngati Hangarau Marae
10.15am: Cuppa Tea - Bethlehem Sports Club
11.00am: Netball – Te Wharekura o Mauao
1.00pm: Rugby – Hautawaho Reserve
followed by Whakawhanaungatanga

NOTES:
- Showers are available at the marae for netball and rugby teams
- NO BYO alcohol to be bought onto the premises (Marae and Club)
- A mobile bar will be available from 12noon - Cans only: 6pack for $30
Beers: Waikato/Speight Summit Ultra/Corona
RTDs: Long White/X Longwhites
The bar will be open in the club at halftime of the rugby with the same beers available, however, NO glass past the clubrooms
- EFTPOS only, NO paywave
- Shop available throughout the day (club) selling pies, hot chips, hot dogs, drinks, lollies etc
