I never used to be very good at filming dirtbikes. That all changed when I got an advanced diploma of iPhone filming from the Lance Russell Institute of IPhone content capturing. In a strange twist of fate, or irony or whatever you want to call it, the gnarliest thing I have ever caught on film was this LANCE RUSSELL crash at FK Gosford earlier this year. Finally got around to trying to figure out how many live ticketed events I’ve worked. I thought it was between 500-600, turns out Freestyle Kings LIVE Melbourne was my 591st event. I didn’t count the non ticketed ones, including but not limited to Jolene Van Vugt ‘s Guinness World Record attempt for the fastest toilet, ETHEN ROBERTS multiple attempts at blob flip records that we made up along the way, and many others. I’m old.

I’ve seen a lot of things over the years, but never seen a show finish like this. The contrast of the deafening sound of and his sled vs the silence of the double backflip, combined with the fronty and “Bundy” body varial, both of the next gen ramp by the way. & continue to redefine what is possible at a live show. The boys and girls of FK get a little break now. We all need to catch our breath after this one.
