It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of one of the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge’s greatest legends, Colin Anderson.

Colin rode his first Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge in 1988 and since went on to complete an extraordinary 107 laps of the lake - more than anyone in the event’s history.

When we spoke with him recently, he was looking forward to riding again and had his sights set on completing laps 110 and 111 in 2027, the year he would turn 80. He is truly part of the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge whānau and will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with Colin’s family and friends.
