💛 RUN FOR BRODIE | THIS SATURDAY 🖤🤍

Kua tata mai te wā.

This Saturday our whānau, club and wider community are coming together to run for our man Brodie, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible.

📍 Rotorua Lakefront, Fenton Street end
🕗 8.00am meet
🙏 8.15am briefing + karakia
🏃 8.30am slow starters
🏃‍♂️ 9.00am serious runners
🟡 10.00am 5km start from the Junction

And when you get home to Pukaretu, make sure you finish it properly: onto the field and through both posts. 🖤🤍

We’re asking everyone to wear yellow for cancer awareness and, most importantly, look after yourselves and each other along the way.

There’ll be hydration stations, water and electrolytes available throughout the course, followed by a sausage sizzle and the club bar opening back at Pukaretu afterwards.

If running isn’t your thing, you can still get behind the kaupapa. Koha and donations for Brodie and his whānau are hugely appreciated. Every contribution, every share and every bit of support helps.

A massive mihi to Primal, FreshChoice, Bidfood, PAK’nSAVE, Profiles, RVBG and all of our whānau and friends who have already put their hands up to support this kaupapa.

Nā koutou tēnei kaupapa i hiki. Mihi ki a koutou katoa.

Check through the slides for all the practical details for Saturday, share them around, chuck on something yellow and we’ll see you out there.

For Brodie. 💛
Up the Black and Whites. 🖤🤍

Over the weekend, our Pikiao Under 19s proudly represented at the Aotearoa Māori Under 19s Tournament, and what an outstanding weekend it was.

From the very beginning, the boys captured the attention of the crowd and quickly became one of the teams to watch. They went undefeated on Day 1, finishing 3 from 3 before progressing through to the semi-final, where they faced E Tu Hei Tia Uri Ariki.

The boys continued their impressive run, securing their place in the final against a strong Kotahitanga side.

The final was an incredible battle from start to finish. In a hard-fought contest, our boys narrowly missed out on taking the title, going down 8–6 to a very good Kotahitanga team.

While the result may not have gone our way, there is so much to be proud of. The determination, composure, brotherhood and effort displayed by these young men throughout the tournament was a credit to them, their whānau and our club.

To make an already outstanding weekend even more special, six of our Pikiao Under 19s players were selected for the Aotearoa Māori Under 19s team:

Logan Dudley
Trey Sayers
Marley Igasen
Tokoaitua Owen
Tavita Pomale
Kayden Kokiri-Jennings

A very special congratulations to Tokoaitua Owen, who was named Player of the Tournament. An outstanding individual achievement and well-deserved recognition of the impact he had throughout the weekend.

We are also incredibly proud to announce that Pikiao received the Best Haka Award, another reflection of the pride, mana and identity our boys carried with them throughout the tournament.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to the Arawa Under 19s Girls, who took out the tournament and were crowned champions. An incredible achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated.

A special acknowledgement to the Pikiao wāhine who represented over the weekend:

Shari
Capri
Maraea
Tamaia
Madyson

We are incredibly proud of you all and the way you represented your whānau, Pikiao and Te Arawa.

To Jason, Cole and the entire Under 19s management team, congratulations and thank you for the time, commitment and work you have invested into these young men. The success of this team is a reflection of the dedication that has gone on behind the scenes, both on and off the field.

To our entire Pikiao Under 19s team, our Pikiao wāhine, management, whānau and supporters you have given our club every reason to be proud.

Congratulations to everyone who represented over the weekend.

🖤🤍 That’s a wrap on our 2026 Senior Season. 🤍🖤

It wasn’t the game we wanted, and it wasn’t the season we had hoped for. But one thing will never change—our gratitude for every single person who pulled on the black and white this year to represent Pikiao.

Wearing this jersey means carrying our club, our people, and our legacy. That is never something we take for granted.

This season reminded us that talent alone isn’t enough. Dedication, commitment, and showing up for one another are what build successful teams. They’re lessons we’ll take forward as we continue to grow.

A huge thank you to our coaches and management for standing by the team week in and week out, right through to the final whistle. Your time, effort, and commitment to both the players and our club never went unnoticed.

To everyone who supported our boys throughout the season whether you sent messages , travelled to games, or stood proudly on the sidelines cheering us on thank you. Your support means more than you know.

And to our incredible kitchen crew… you ladies are the backbone of our home game days. Week after week you made sure everyone was well fed, and the compliments never stopped. We were even told that Pikiao are the hosts with the most! You know who you are, and we simply can’t thank you enough for everything you do behind the scenes. You’re absolute legends.

Next year marks 50 years of the Pikiao League Club a milestone that deserves to be celebrated. We have big plans already underway and will be working hard to field the strongest team possible as we honour this special chapter in our club’s history.

Watch this space… it’s going to be a big one. 👀🖤🤍

To our boys, have a safe and enjoyable night. Thank you for representing our club this season.

Finally, on behalf of the Pikiao Sports & Community Club, we’d like to wish the four teams heading into the semi-finals all the very best. Enjoy the challenge, play hard, and good luck for the remainder of the season.

See you all in 2027. Up the black and white 🖤🤍

⚫️⚪️ ROUND 14. ONE LAST TIME. ⚪️⚫️

The final team list of our 2026 season.

This week the Premiers head to Arataki for one last 80-minute shift in the black and white. The season may finish at the final whistle, but how we carry the jersey, stand beside one another, and represent our people remains.

One final chance to empty the tank, honour the mahi already laid down, and close this chapter with pride.

📍 Arataki Park, Field 1
📅 Saturday 1 August
🕒 Kick-off: 3.00pm

Stand strong and finish with mana.

17/07/2026

⚫️⚪️ ROUND 13. NO EASY ONES NOW. ⚪️⚫️

This week the Premiers head into another tough one against Pāpāmoa, with the season well and truly in the business end.

There’s a few blanks still to be filled, a side that’s had to adjust on the run, and another 80 minutes where grit, composure, and effort will matter more than anything else.

At this stage of the year, it’s not about being perfect.
It’s about staying in the fight.

📍 Gordon Spratt Reserve – Field 1
📅 Saturday 18 July
🕒 Kick-off: 3:00pm

Another week to stand up. Another week to earn it.

🖤🤍 20KM FOR BRODIE 🤍🖤

In 2025, our Pikiao brother Brodie Chung was diagnosed with intra-articular synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer in his knee. Following major surgery and a full knee replacement, Brodie is now seven months into his recovery. He has come a long way, but the journey continues.

On Saturday 29 August, we are running 20 kilometres in love, solidarity and support of our man.

📍 Meet at the Lakefront car park, next to Eighty Six Coffee Cart
⏰ Meet 8.45am | Start 9.00am
🏁 Finish at Pikiao Rugby League Club
🏃🏽 Run, walk or jog. All ages and all paces are welcome.

Cars will be available for anyone needing to sub in along the way. Every step is for Brodie.

All koha will go directly to him, giving Brodie the space to focus on his recovery, spend time with his loved ones and get back to doing the things he loves. Donation details are included on the poster.

Our brother wore the black and white. Now it is our turn to stand beside him.

We also acknowledge the important mahi of , supporting patients and whānau affected by sarcoma throughout Aotearoa.

It’s not just a run. It’s for Brodie. It’s for our Pikiao brother.
