Prize giving details for our Lakes FC Kowhai and Tarawera U19 Girls teams, Bay League and W-League Women's teams:

Update: there is no game on Sunday versus Cambridge. They could not field a team due to illness and injury.

This Sunday, 23 August, is the second to last home game for our W-League team. Get down there to support them if you can!

Lakes FC wishes Stacey Jackson on all the best for her foray into football (a.k.a soccer!) in the USA. She will be playing for the FC Women’s team, based in Callaway, Florida. Stacey flew out of NZ this week; hopefully the transition from our frosty Tuesday and Thursday evening trainings to much warmer ones is not too difficult! Stacey has made a big contribution to Lakes FC on and off the field this season and in previous seasons so we are sorry to see her go but will be following her progress with interest. She leaves us in a good position in the W-League, with a mathematical chance of wrapping up a consecutive title this Sunday, with three games to spare, if we beat Cambridge and second-place Blue Rovers drop points against third-place Taupo.

Our Lakes FC Bay League women's team completed their season on Sunday, 16 August, with a 2-2 draw against Ōtūmoetai FC Vitality. The team has developed well, finishing the season strongly by playing attractive positive football as a team, going unbeaten in the last three games. Thank you to all the players that have put their hands up to play for the team across the entire season, the game day coaches (Aaron and Shane), and manager (Jeanene). The women's space is not finished yet though, as our W-League team still has four matches, looking to close out back-to-back titles.

Our Bay Team's playing their last game of the season, and it's at home! Come on down and cheer on these awesome ladies.

The Polynesian Spa Lakes FC W-League team travelled to the Eastern Bay of Plenty to take on Whakatane Town AFC last Sunday, 19 July. A strong performance resulted in an 8-0 victory (half-time 5-0), with goals for Halee (4), Sammi (2), Keely and Anneka. Player-of-the-Day points were awarded to Halee (3), Micaela (2) and Amber (1). With seven games to go in the season, the team is in a good position to defend their W-League title but there is still a lot of work to be done. It was the last Lakes FC match for our French player Noa. She has made an excellent contribution to both our women’s teams and at trainings. We wish Noa the best for the future and safe travels.
