This year, our End of Year Celebration is about so much more than just our code achievements.
It’s about celebrating the people who make Whakarewarewa Rugby Community Sports Club what it is.
The players who wore the jersey with pride. The coaches and managers who gave their time. The volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Our sponsors, life members, whānau and supporters who have stood beside us every step of the way.
This has been a year of resilience, growth and rebuilding. While we’ve continued to compete on the field, we’ve also been laying the foundations for the future of our club.
Our celebration will also acknowledge an exciting milestone as we take the next step in our club’s rebuild journey. It’s a chance to come together, reflect on where we’ve come from, recognise those who have carried us through, and look ahead with confidence to what’s next.
Join us as we celebrate not just a season, but our club, our people, and the future we’re building together.

Throwback Thursday
This time last year, at the end of the regular season we were blessed with 2 home finals for Championship Womens and Baywide Premier Competition.
Puarenga Park was jammed packed for both days and the atmosphere was unreal. A wicked weekend for our club that we will never forget as we crowned 2 Baywide champions , flying the banner for not only Whakarewarewa but CBOP and Rotorua🫱🏼🫲🏽

Our club went into recession during the world war times, as men were sent to serve in the NZ Army. This was the team that revitalized our club and gave us a new breath of life, reforming and fielding a team in 1954.
As we move forward into our newfuture, we look back and acknowledge those who built the foundation for our club and our people.
Feel free to share, tell stories and name your whanau. ease feel free to reach out and share.
