The Counties Training squads played Howick yesterday in blustery conditions! Was a great day of tennis with a lot of first time reps putting on the red shirt! The squad coming away with the win. Big shout out to our youngest member Dan in his first match in the last game of the day coming out with a 17-15 win the 3rd set tiebreak! Great work team!

๐ŸŽพ Schools Coaching โ†’ Club Members! ๐ŸŽพ

A great follow-up opportunity for clubs after running school coaching!

If your club doesnโ€™t currently have any schools feeding into it this season, why not organise your coach to provide some free tennis coaching for students at a local school?

Itโ€™s a great way to introduce kids to tennis, get them excited about playing, and then give them a pathway back to your club. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽพ

And hereโ€™s an easy next stepโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ“ฃ Love Tennis is coming up!
๐Ÿ“… Sunday 13 September
โฐ 10amโ€“2pm

Weโ€™ve attached a Love Tennis colouring competition poster that you can share with the schools youโ€™ve been working with. Itโ€™s a fun way to keep your club in front of the students and families and encourage them to come along to your Love Tennis Open Day.

School coaching + follow-up + Love Tennis = a great opportunity to grow your club! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Get your coach, school and club working together and make the most of the opportunity! ๐ŸŽพโค๏ธ

๐ŸŽพ CTA vs Waikato Representative Match ๐ŸŽพ

On Sunday 14 June, Counties Tennis Association hosted our annual representative fixture against Waikato.

The day started perfectly with plenty of sunshine and not a breath of wind โ€“ ideal tennis conditions! While some light rain arrived around midday, we were fortunate to have our turf courts, allowing all scheduled matches to be completed.

A huge thank you to Waikato for making the trip and helping make the fixture possible. These representative matches provide invaluable competitive opportunities for our players and continue to strengthen the relationship between our two associations.

Thank you also to all the parents, coaches, managers, and volunteers whose support behind the scenes ensures these events run smoothly. Your commitment allows our players to enjoy these experiences and continue their development.

The results saw our Girls team finish with 3 wins and 12 losses, while our Boys team recorded 3 wins and 17 losses. While the scoreline favoured Waikato, our players showed great determination, sportsmanship, and resilience throughout the day. Representative tennis is about more than resultsโ€”it's about challenging yourself against strong opposition, gaining match experience, building team spirit, and learning what it takes to compete at the next level.

We are proud of the effort and attitude shown by all our players and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and improve throughout the season.

Well done everyone, and thank you again to Waikato for a fantastic day of tennis! ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿ‘
