We could’ve just said “do 12 classes in 6 weeks” and called it a challenge.
But how BORING is that? 🥱
We’re officially over halfway through our SISU Winter Rebellion and our members have been bringing the HEAT - completing bonus missions, getting involved, having a laugh and generally proving that we do not know how to do things by halves around here.
There’s been a Midwinter Christmas movie night, weekly Mat Pilates sessions (where everyone gets the pleasure of watching me suffer alongside them 😂), ridiculous bonus missions, herbal tea for our early birds, merch to be earned by everyone and a $400 self-care package waiting for one lucky sausage at the finish line.
Because yes, consistency matters.
But we also believe movement should be FUN. Your studio should be somewhere you actually want to go. Especially at the time of year when it’s hardest to leave the warmth of home!
We do cool stuff here.
SISU Reformer Pilates & Movement Studio
A boutique Reformer Pilates studio in the heart of Pukekohe offering small group classes and self-service studio access.
Everyone stakes claim to having a community.
But THIS is what it looks like at SISU.
Because when life starts to feel like work → home → work → home, you need somewhere that’s just for you.
Not as mum. Not as the boss. Not as the person holding everything together.
Just you.
A third space. Somewhere to go, people to laugh with and things to actually look forward to.
We don’t just talk about community. We create reasons for it to actually happen.
And there’s plenty more where this came from.
Want in? Come join us.
Maybe you don’t hate exercise.
Maybe you just haven’t found somewhere you actually want to go.
Before SISU, Sue and Angie had tried the things you’re “supposed” to try - gyms, bootcamps, spin class.
But nothing really stuck.
And listening to them talk, I think a huge part of it came down to something we don’t talk about enough:
Belonging.
Finding somewhere you don’t feel intimidated.
Where you don’t feel like you have to already be fit to fit in.
Where people know your name (plus your dog’s name and what you’re doing for the weekend 😅)
Where you notice when someone hasn’t been there.
Where showing up starts to feel less like another thing you have to do… and more like something you genuinely look forward to.
Because the best exercise in the world means nothing if you don’t actually want to keep doing it.
⭐️ Meet the Members | Episode 2
What did you try before and why didn’t it work?
Their answers are the same as so many other women that step through our doors.
So maybe finding your thing isn’t just about finding the right workout.
Maybe it’s about finding your people, too.
If you’ve tried the gym, the bootcamps, the 8 week challenges and nothing’s ever really stuck, maybe you haven’t found your people yet. It might be time to come meet ours.

Hear me out.
On paper, class packs sound like the perfect solution.
They’re flexible.
No commitment.
Come whenever you like.
Perfect for the modern day busy women, some would say.
But after years of watching hundreds of women start their health journey, I’ve seen the same story play out over and over again. And it breaks my heart everytime.
Someone buys a pack full of motivation and they start with a bang.
But then life starts life-ing
Work gets hectic.
Kids get sick.
A holiday pops up.
One missed week turns into two. Then three.
Attendance spreads out. They don’t see results. The pack expires. And they walk away feeling like Pilates didn’t work for them.
But here’s the thing...
It does. They just didn’t do it often enough to get results.
Over the past few months, I’ve gone deep down the rabbit hole trying to understand what actually helps people create lasting change.
The answer isn’t more motivation.
It isn’t finding the “perfect” workout.
It is consistency.
Week after week.
Month after month.
That’s why we’ve made the decision to say goodbye to class packs at SISU.
Because I genuinely believe there is a better way to help people build habits that stick.
Over the last 8 months we have been building our memberships around accountability, coaching, community and consistency, because our job isn’t just to help you exercise.
It’s to help you create a healthier body, a happier mind and habits that last long after the initial motivation wears off so you can go out there and create the biggest, most positive impact that you can on the world.
I know not everyone will agree with this decision.
But I’d rather build a business around what I believe gives people the best chance of success than what’s simply easiest to sell.
If you’re tired of the stop-start cycle and you are ready to actually make a routine stick, send us a DM and we can have a chat about how this could work for you.
For something that every woman will experience, menopause is still surrounded by so much silence and dismissal. We think that needs to change.
Last weekend, we filled our studio with 22 women who were ready to get answers to the questions they’d been carrying for months, sometimes years.
Questions about brain fog. Fatigue. Weight gain. Hormones. Sleep. Mood. S*x drive.
There was something incredibly powerful about a room full of women realising they weren’t broken, they weren’t imagining it and they definitely weren’t alone.
A huge thank you to Ginny McArthur for leading such an honest and practical conversation about menopause. Everyone walked away with evidence-based strategies to help tackle the symptoms and feel more like themselves, but more importantly, they walked away feeling understood.
This is the kind of community we’re building at SISU.
Not just a Pilates studio, but a place where women can move, learn, ask questions, share experiences and support one another through every season of life.
We’d love to do another one.
If we hosted another women’s health event, what topic would you love us to cover next? Let us know in the comments!
160.
That’s how many of our members have chosen to prioritise themselves this winter.
Not because life suddenly got less busy or motivation magically appeared.
But because they decided to choose their health over their excuses (and the couch).
Tomorrow, our first ever SISU Winter Rebellion begins.
Over the next six weeks, these legends will be showing up for themselves, battling it out in-studio with bonus missions, joining us for mid-winter Christmas movie night + beach walks (and chilly sea dips!), earning some limited edition merch and proving that winter doesn’t get to decide how they feel.
This has never been about six weeks.
It’s about building the habits that carry you through every season. Especially when it’s easy to choose to stay home.
To every single person whose name is on the leaderboard… we’re so bloody excited to do this with you!
Are you ready?!
Making friends as an adult isn’t hard because you’re bad at it.
It’s hard because life isn’t set up for it anymore.
You’re not sitting next to the same people at school every day or living in halls.
You’re juggling work, family and a million other things.
So if you’re waiting for friendship to just... happen?
It probably won’t.
That’s why we started Walking Club.
No awkward networking.
No forced “tell us about yourself” moments.
No pressure to keep a conversation going every second.
Just fresh air, a beautiful walk, and people who are also looking to connect.
The best conversations usually happen when you’re walking side by side anyway.
📍 Walking Club | This Sunday
Come with a friend.
Come by yourself.
Some of the best friendships at SISU started because someone decided to turn up alone.
Comment WALK and we will see you Sunday.
Walking through the door is the hardest part.
Because most people are wondering:
”Will I fit in?”
Here’s what we want you to know.
Our instructors will remember your name.
Our members will say hi and start talking to you when you sit on the Reformer next to them.
Different ages.
Different bodies.
Different fitness levels.
Different stories.
The one thing everyone has in common?
They’re here to feel better, not to be better than anyone else.
There are no Pilates princesses, or toxic gym culture here.
That’s the kind of community we’ve worked hard to build, and we’re incredibly proud of it.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence because you’re worried you’ll feel out of place...
Come and see for yourself.
We think you’ll fit in just fine.
If you’ve been feeling like your body has changed all of a sudden, this is for you.
Brain fog. Fatigue. Poor sleep. Mood changes. Weight that suddenly seems harder to shift.
If you’ve been wondering, “What is happening to me?” - you’re not imagining it, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
That’s exactly why we’ve invited nutritionist Ginny McArthur to SISU.
This won’t be an afternoon of being told to “eat better” or “exercise more.”
It’s about understanding what’s happening during perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, so you can stop guessing and start supporting your body with confidence.
You’ll leave with practical strategies, evidence-based advice and, most importantly, clarity.
✨ Only 5 spots remain.
If you’ve been thinking about getting on top of this and are sick of being told it’s something you just have to deal with quietly, this is your sign to book before they’re gone.
📅 Saturday 25 July
⏰ 2-3:30pm
🥗 Light refreshments included.
Comment GINNY for more details.
Half of winter is gone. The question is… what are you going to do with the rest of it? ❄️
You can blink and suddenly it’s September, wondering where your motivation went…
Or you can spend the next six weeks building momentum you’ll be grateful for when spring rolls around.
That’s exactly why we created the SISU Winter Rebellion. 6 weeks, 12 classes and a community that’s choosing consistency over the couch.
And we’ve made it even easier (and way more fun) to keep showing up when your excuses are at an all time high this time of year:
✨ 30 min midday classes to fit into busy days
🧘♀️ Virtual Mat Pilates making a special cameo when getting to the studio just isn’t possible
☕ Extra goodies for our early morning crew, because not snoozing the alarm in winter deserves a little reward.
🎬 An EPIC line-up of member-only events to keep the winter blues away (did someone say Mid-Winter Christmas Movie Night?!)
Plus, you’ll still be working towards:
🏆 Limited-edition Rebel merch (must be earned, not bought).
🎁 Our Ultimate Self-Care Experience prize pack worth over $400.
This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about proving to yourself that you can keep showing up when it’s cold, dark and inconvenient… because that’s where results are built.
⚠️ Registrations close midnight Sunday.
Already a member? You are automatically enrolled but don’t forget to complete the registration form so we can order your merch.
Not a member? There’s still time to join us - but not for much longer.
Comment WINTER and we’ll send you the link.
Let’s make the second half of winter count 🔥
