AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL OPEN RESULTS

Well done to KAP members who attended the AIO over the weekend!! Check out their results below:

It was an epic turnout with 500 entrants and an insanely high quality of Judo. Well done Brody, Liam and John, this was undoubtedly the toughest competition of the year yet with many international visitors.

A special congratulations to Sergey winning a bronze in SM U66, silver in Veteran U66 and gold in the Nage no Kata! Also congratulations to Maxym taking bronze in CM U60, gold SB U60 and silver in SB open. Amazing work!!

Special thanks to Sensei Alex for taking videos and looking after Wellington Judo Association members where possible. We're so proud the area supports one another in far away trips!

Thats a wrap for the 2026 Wellington International Open! What a fantastic weekend for the club, not only on but off the mat as well with a legion of volunteers helping the tournament run smoothly - thank you so much for your time!

We want to say how proud we are of all of our club members who entered, for some it was their first competition. Shout out to those who competed but didn't quite medal, you fought well and had really tough competition. The quality of your Judo was high and your attitude off the mat was gracious. In total the club took 15 medals from the weekend!
