The National Club Championships were held in Tauranga this weekend. Seventeen teams were entered. The competition was of the highest quality as would be expected as the top players throughout New Zealand entered. It was an amazing weekend , catching up with those in other clubs. Kapiti put in a fine performance, ending up in 7th position. A superb effort, team. Winners were Herne Bay, with the winners of the seniors, Bayview

The last round of the Casey Cup was played today in Manawatu. It was one of those days where the rain turned pistes into semi swimming pools, however, by the time the third and last round started, the sun decided to come out. As always, Petanquers come prepared for all weather conditions. Rain clothing also creates a disguise for any bad shots or points made by competitors. The winners of this year's Trophy is Kapiti . A brilliant effort by all who have taken part in any or all of the four rounds. See you all next year. Manawatu, Horowhenua and Otaki, it has been a real pleasure to compete with you all
