Marist Junior Rugby would like to acknowledge the passing of Mark Andersen and pass our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mark held many volunteer roles throughout the Manawatu. He served on the Marist Junior Rugby committee alongside his wife Paula for a decade and was Chairman for 8 years. During this time Marist Junior Rugby thrived as 100’s of families enjoyed being part of the the club.

Mark then joined our senior club ‘Old boys Marist’ where he became Club Captain and later Chairman. During Marks decade of service, the senior club enjoyed much success and again his efforts were felt by many.

At a Regional level Mark sat on the Manawatu Junior Rugby Board and the Manawatu Club Rugby Executive having an impact on the wider Manawatu Rugby community.

The Marist Sports club honoured Mark as a life member for his service to the club and he was also nominated as Volunteer of the year at the New Zealand Rugby awards during his time in Junior Rugby.

Mark always made himself available to share his knowledge and experience. Not many have made a bigger impact on the rugby landscape in Manawatu as Mark did.

Mark you will be missed 🏉💚

✨Family Club Day this Saturday✨

We look forward to our final family day of the season this Saturday!

There will be plenty happening with the coaches showing their skills against each other in a game of Rippa and a Top Town competition Marist Edition.

There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs, so head down and get amongst the fun. Let’s hope the weather is our friend 🤞
