📣 This Sunday 30th August will see the facility closed to the public from 1.00pm as we proudly host a Swimming Manawatu swim carnival. All SwimMagic swim lessons run as per normal on this day. Good luck to all swimmers competing 🥇🥈🥉

Recently, we said farewell to one of our SwimMagic swim school stars - Head Coach Abigail. Abigail has been part of Freyberg for ages & actually leant to swim here as a young child MANY years ago. You may still see her around from time to time as she will be helping us out on occasions however we take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you and wish her all the very best 💙

Great news: our newly developed female change rooms at the facility are done and are open to the public. They look awesome 😍 Our family room changing space now returns to normal. We take this opportunity to thank all of our patrons for their patience and understanding while this project was completed. Of course, huge THANKS must go to Palmerston North City Council and the contractors for their work on this. It is definitely much appreciated.

🇺🇸 This week we said farewell to lifeguard (and occasional Chill Out ASC staff member) Emma who is off on a big OE adventure to study and swim at college in the US. We will certainly miss her smiling face on poolside but wish her all the very best on this amazing opportunity. Thanks Emma. YOU are a ⭐️

Every year on July 25th, Aotearoa New Zealand joins the world in marking World Drowning Prevention Day.

Last year 78 people drowned. Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death in our country. Keep in mind, it's preventable!!!

Last week we spent a little more time than usual on water safety in our lessons. On Saturday, we wore blue to start conversations and focused on learning how to Float first. Together, we can prevent drowning.

Learning to swim and water safety is for EVERYONE! How long can you float for?

😍 Some VERY exciting news: Our female change rooms are being redeveloped. This will mean they are fully closed to the public from Monday 3rd August for a period of approximately 3 weeks. During this period, the family change rooms will become the temporary female change space with additional privacy in place. Where possible we are asking our users to come changed & ready to swim and shower/change at home as demand will be extremely high and space limited. All SwimMagic swim lessons continue as scheduled.
