Great day at Forestry beach for the latest club comp.o. Saturday.
A huge thank you to North and South Trust Ltd for their generous support in helping Orewa Longboard Club purchase a new defibrillator.
This life-saving equipment is an important addition to our club, strengthening safety for our members and the wider beach community who share our coastline and facilities. Having a defibrillator on hand means we are better prepared to respond in an emergency and continue providing a safe, inclusive environment for surfers of all ages and abilities.
Your support helps us protect lives and reinforces the strong community spirit that makes our club so special. Thank you for investing in the wellbeing and safety of our club and beach community.Β πβ€οΈΒ

Hey folks! might be a long shot, but does anyone have a 35mm SLIDE PROJECTOR that we can borrow TONGIHT at the Εrewa Surf Life Saving Club cafe for a slide show from The art of surfing by Steven Valiere
Steve's got a stack of slides from his 1970s surf travels through latin america, Indo, Hawaii, South Africa, Australia and beyond... but his projector has carked it!!
Please save us so we can do some mind surfing through some empty barrels from some of the best places in the world :-P
If you have one, or know someone who does, please comment here or send a message, and we'll get back to you asap.

Hi Crew (Mitch here). Just a quick round up of the epic weekend we had celebrating OLBC Club Classic Memorial competition at Waipu.
Very grateful that we made the wise decision to postpone, and hence scored shoulder to head high offshore waves most of the day Saturday, which enabled us to fit in a full day of competition.
This was no easy task and beautifully orchestrated by the talented Steve Morris and Mike Millar. The committee worked hard on this one and it paid off in spades.
The memorial comp is a celebration and recognition of those legends that have gone before us .
Thank you Brownie for your words, remembering those who have passed.
For me personally the weekend was about making new relationships. It was fantastic to meet characters like Mike Meade and Stephen Coates . Both are older than me and have traveled extensively, but have the energy of a 16-year-old Gromit- very impressive!
It was great to see Taj and some of the other youngsters ripping it up. The competition was fierce, and the resulting podium positions were rightfully claimed.
Other personal highlights was the debrief at the picnic table with a few cold beverages after a very busy day. Also heading to Waipu RSA to watch Mark Hoyleβs good friend JP and Wife Sandy put on an eclectic and interesting show for an early Saint Paddyβs day celebration.
Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors at Underground Surf, Morris Surfboards, Threadbox, GlowLab, Marrow Butcher, Mcleods Brewery, Sticky Johnson, Auckland Civil, and Seasap Zinc.
Without you, it wouldnβt be possible.
And of course, thank you to everyone that turned up lent a hand, picked up rubbish, shared a smile and had a great day at the beach!
Reminder for club night this week too everybody!
Cheers, Mitch (Club President) π€
