🌟 Meet Our New Store Managers – Emily & Matt!

The Frontrunner New Plymouth is thrilled to welcome Emily and Matt to the team as our new store managers!

Born and raised in New Plymouth, Emily and Matt have deep roots in the local community. Emily grew up loving netball, adventure racing, squash, and running, while Matt discovered his joy for running in high school.

Their shared passion for running took them to the United States for college in 2016, and they spent the next nine years living in Flagstaff, Arizona.

In December 2024, they returned to New Plymouth with their son, Miles, and in 2025, they launched

Emily is passionate about running, nutrition, keeping girls in sport, and supporting others on their journey back into exercise, especially post-partum. She has represented New Zealand twice at the World Cross Country Championships and has placed on the podium at three Athletics New Zealand championships.

Matt has had a standout running career, holding New Zealand records in the indoor 5000m and road 5k. He was runner-up at the 2017 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships, spent six years as a professional runner with HOKA Northern Arizona Elite, and boasts a marathon best of 2:10:57. He is also the co-author of Running Up the Mountain.

Together, Emily and Matt are excited to continue the legacy of Frontrunner New Plymouth and support the community they proudly call home.
