This Sunday, our Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate Queen Bees load up and head south to Turuturu Park, Hāwera to take on Hawera Football Club Inc Women.

With the whole club behind them, they’ll be looking to bring that Woodleigh fight, heart and never-say-die attitude on the road.

No Div 2. No Killer Bees. No sharing the limelight this weekend, ladies

WEEKEND WRAP | GREEN ARMY

And just like that, another weekend is done,,and our men’s season finishes with TWO wins and plenty for the Green Army to celebrate!

MTF Finance New Plymouth
Division 2
Woodleigh 6–2 NPBHSFootball

Now THAT is how you finish a season!

The lads went a goal down early at Sutherland but kept their heads, backed their football and absolutely stormed home with a 6–2 victory.

A massive way to sign off what has been a brilliant season for our Div 2 boys. Plenty of goals, plenty of fight and one last big win in front of the Green Army.

Take a bow, lads.

Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 - Killer Bees
Peringa United A.F.C. Inc. 1–2 Woodleigh

WHAT. A. FINISH. 🐝

An intense, quality game of football at Peringa Park saw the Killer Bees finish their season with a huge away win!

The midfield and forwards were cooking with quick passing, movement and attacking pressure, while the defence stood strong against the counter and Rick was doing Rick things between the sticks.

Then came the breakthrough! Justin opened the scoring before Phil made it two, courtesy of a rather tasty Pirlo-esque through ball from Cole.

Peringa pulled one back in added time to give everyone’s blood pressure one final workout, but the Bees held firm.

2–1. Three points. Season finished. Job done.

Player Of The Day Points

Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
Woodleigh Wāhine
New Plymouth Rangers AFC 8–1 Woodleigh

Our Queen Bees battled Rangers AND the Merrilands wind on Sunday morning.

Despite the tough conditions and result, the Wāhine stuck to their game plan, got their passing going and continued playing their football right to the end.

Not the result they wanted, but another performance full of the fight and togetherness we’ve come to expect from this group.

Lucy 3 | Rosie 2 | Caitlyn 1

And to our Green Army faithful
Thank you for backing our teams from Sutherland to Peringa to Merrilands and everywhere in between.

What a way for our men’s teams to sign off their seasons. The Wāhine will be back in action next Sunday

Two wins. Nine goals. Six points. One bloody proud Green Army.

ONE CLUB. ONE BADGE. ONE GREEN ARMY.

WEEKLY MATCHES | GREEN ARMY

Another weekend, another three teams ready to fly the Woodleigh flag, one defending the Fortress and two taking the Green Army on tour.

SATURDAY

Our MTF Finance New Plymouth
Division 2 A Team are back at Sutherland Park as they welcome NPBHSFootball
for a 12:45pm kick-off.

It’s the lads’ final game of the season, so there’s only one way to finish it, empty the tank, leave everything on the pitch and give the Green Army one last Saturday afternoon to celebrate at home.

School might be in session
but we’re not planning on handing out any easy marks.

Then our Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 – Killer Bees pack up the swarm and head across town to Peringa Park to take on Peringa United A.F.C. Inc.
at 2:45pm.

The Bees showed plenty of fight last weekend, and they’ll be looking to bring that same never-say-die attitude on the road. Peringa might have home advantage, but the Green Army has never been particularly good at behaving like visitors.

SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST

Then it’s over to our Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate Woodleigh Wāhine, heading to Merrilands Domain to take on New Plymouth Rangers AFC at 10:00am.

Our Queen Bees have shown heart, grit and togetherness all season, and they’ll be ready for another Sunday morning battle.

So Green Army faithful, get the green and white on, get around our brothers and sisters and make some noise wherever the badge is being represented this weekend.

Three teams. One badge. One Green Army.

WEEKEND WRAP | GREEN ARMY

A tough weekend on the scoreboard, but plenty of fight, character and Green Army pride from our lads.

MTF Finance New Plymouth
Division 2
CharrĂșa Kaponga SC 2–0 Woodleigh

A hard-fought battle down at Victoria Park saw Kaponga take the points, but the score doesn’t tell the whole story.

The boys put together a strong performance and shut Kaponga out completely in the second half. With just ONE game remaining, there’s one last job to do, finish the season with a bang and send it home with three points.

Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 – Killer Bees
Woodleigh 1–8 FC Western

Beautiful day at the Sutherland Hive, some quality football
and one of those scorelines that really doesn’t reflect the game.

Western were absolutely clinical when opportunities came, while our Killer Bees created plenty themselves but just couldn’t make the net bulge. The midfield and wings controlled plenty of the passing play and kept trying to make things happen.

Down 7–1 at halftime, it would’ve been easy to drop the heads.

Not this bunch.

The Bees came back out, dug in and played the second half to a 1–1 scoreline, pure never-say-die Woodleigh attitude.

And Dylan finally opened his account for the season, getting on the end of Justin’s “pass”
we’ll let Justin decide how intentional it was.

Dylan 3 | Connor 2 | Phil 1

 AGAIN!

Sometimes the scoreboard gets the headlines. We care just as much about the fight shown while wearing that badge.

Proud of our lads. Proud of our club. Proud to be Green Army.

ONE CLUB. ONE BADGE. ONE GREEN ARMY.

WEEKLY MATCHES | GREEN ARMY

Another weekend is calling and our brothers in green are ready to answer it. One heading south for battle, the other defending the Hive.

SATURDAY

Our MTF Finance New Plymouth
Division 2 - A Team hit the road and head south to Victoria Park to take on CharrĂșa Kaponga SC Division 2.

Kaponga on their own patch is never an easy assignment, so expect a battle. The lads will be ready to roll up the sleeves, represent the badge and hopefully bring a few points back north with them.

12:45pm kick-off | Victoria Park, Kaponga

Then it’s back to Sutherland Park where the Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 – Killer Bees are
LIVE FROM THE HIVE!

This week they welcome the
FC Western Thumpers for a 2:45pm showdown.

The fortress is ours. The Bees are home. And we’d love a noisy Green Army lining the sidelines to help make Sutherland a very uncomfortable place for visiting teams.

Thumpers by name
 hopefully not by nature. 😏

2:45pm kick-off | Sutherland Park

SUNDAY

Meanwhile, our
Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
Woodleigh Wāhine have earned themselves a weekend off.

The Queen Bees will officially be ladies of leisure
although this bunch aren’t exactly known for sitting still. With the momentum they’ve been building, we’re sure they’ll find something to keep themselves buzzing before getting back to business.

Two men’s teams in action. Our Wāhine recharging. One badge proudly represented.

To our Green Army faithful, travel south if you can, pack the Hive in the afternoon and get behind our brothers and sisters in green.

ONE CLUB. ONE BADGE. ONE GREEN ARMY.

WEEKEND WRAP | GREEN ARMY

Another weekend in the books.
Three teams giving everything for the badge and plenty for the Green Army to be proud of.

MTF Finance New Plymouth Division 2
4–1 WIN vs New Plymouth Rangers AFC Old Boys

A massive three points for the lads! Woodleigh struck early, Rangers levelled, and the boys answered almost immediately before taking control and running out convincing 4–1 winners.

Just two games remain, and the mission is simple, finish this season STRONG.

Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 – Killer Bees | 1–1 vs Inglewood AFC

What a performance from the Bees. Quality passing, link-up play, movement and relentless pressure created chances all afternoon, including hitting the crossbar THREE times.

Defensively the whole team put in a shift, with Rick strong between the sticks. Phil and Hugh’s pressure finally broke the deadlock before Inglewood grabbed an equaliser in the dying minutes.

A frustrating ending, but a bloody good performance from the lads.

Player of the day points
Hugh 3 | Scotty 2 | Rick 1
🍆 DOTD: Kenny

Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate Woodleigh Wāhine | 0–3 vs Stratford Football Club

Our Queen Bees were awesome again. In tough, blustery conditions they went toe-to-toe with a strong Stratford side, creating chances and applying plenty of pressure in an end-to-end battle.

The scoreline didn’t fall our way, but another performance full of fight, heart and Woodleigh pride.

Player of the day points
Caitlyn 3 | Tess 2 | Amy & Maya 1

Wins, draws or losses, these teams keep showing what wearing the green and white means.

One Club. One Badge. One Green Army.

A BIG THANK YOU TO NZCT

Woodleigh AFC would like to say a massive thank you to the New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) for their generous funding support, which has allowed us to upgrade our senior goals at Sutherland Park.

Support like this makes a genuine difference to grassroots football. Having quality equipment and facilities helps us provide a better football environment for our players, coaches and wider Woodleigh community.

We’re incredibly grateful to NZCT for investing in our club and helping us continue to improve the home of the Green Army.

The new goals are up, Sutherland is looking sharp
now we just need to keep putting the ball in the right side of them!

From everyone at Woodleigh AFC
Thank you, NZCT, for backing grassroots sport and supporting our club.

WEEKLY MATCHES | GREEN ARMY

Another weekend, another chance to pull on the green and white and represent the badge. Two at the Hive and one on the road, let’s get around our brothers and sisters in green!

SATURDAY

Our MTF Finance New Plymouth
Division 2 lads hit the road to Merrilands Domain to take on New Plymouth Rangers AFC Old Boys at 2:45pm.

Old Boys vs our boys. We’ll leave the age jokes alone
for now. The mission is simple: get in, get the job done and bring the points back to Sutherland.

Meanwhile, back at the Hive, our
Novotel New Plymouth
Division 3 – Killer Bees are running it back against Inglewood AFC
After facing them just last weekend.

Same opponent. New week. Home turf.

The lads will be hungry for a different ending this time, and with the Green Army behind them at Sutherland Park, there’s no better place to settle a little unfinished business.

2:45pm kick-off.

SUNDAY

Then it’s over to our
Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
Woodleigh Wāhine, who defend the home turf against Stratford Football Club at 10:00am.

Our Queen Bees face another tough challenge with Stratford making the trip up from the south, but this Wāhine squad has shown week after week that they’re never afraid of a scrap.

Coffee in hand, green and white on, Sunday morning sorted.

To our Green Army faithful, this is your call-up.
Get around our teams, make some noise on the sidelines and show our players what it means to represent Woodleigh.

Brothers and sisters in green.
One badge. One club. One Green Army.

WEEKEND WRAP | GREEN ARMY

With the men’s cup round underway, our
MTF Finance New Plymouth Division 2 side enjoyed the weekend off, while our
Novotel New Plymouth Division 3 – Killer Bees and
Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate Woodleigh Wāhine proudly represented the Green Army on the road.

Division 3 –
Inglewood AFC 4–0 Woodleigh

Another performance that showed just how much this group is growing. The lads controlled large parts of the match, created plenty of chances and defended strongly, only to be denied by some outstanding goalkeeping and Inglewood’s clinical finishing.

Ya’akov 3 | Brandon 2 | Jayme 1
Dick of the Day: Caleb

Woodleigh Wāhine –
Waitara Soccer Club 9–0 Woodleigh

Facing one of the competition’s top sides, our Queen Bees never stopped competing. In a physical contest, the ladies worked hard, backed each other and showed plenty of heart from first whistle to last.

Amy 3 | Laura 2 | Rosie 1

A huge thank you to our Green Army faithful who continue to support our teams wherever they play. We keep building, we keep believing, and we’ll be ready to go again next weekend.

One Club. One Badge. One Green Army.

THE QUEEN BEES ARE BACK IN ACTION!

Also flying the Green Army flag this weekend, our Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
Woodleigh Wāhine
Hit the road to Manukorihi Domain for what promises to be an absolute cracker against a strong Waitara Soccer Club side.

Our Queen Bees have been cooking lately. Confidence is high, the football has been flowing, and this squad continues to show what can be achieved when a team backs each other and plays with heart.

Now comes another big test.

Waitara will provide a tough challenge, but if recent form is anything to go by, this is shaping up to be one of the matches of the weekend.

So let’s get the Green Army rolling again. Grab a coffee, throw on your green and white, and get down to Manukorihi Domain this Sunday for a 10:00am kick-off. Your support means everything, and there’s nothing better than hearing the Green Army cheering on our Queen Bees.

One Club. One Badge. One Green Army.
