Today, some of our Fencing in Nelson/ Tasman - FEINT fencers ventured out in their whites to put on a fencing demonstration at Founders Heritage Park 🤺
With plenty of other sports on display, there was no question that playing with swords ⚔️ was the clear favourite!
We’re looking forward to welcoming some new recruits for a fencing taste-tester soon. Who knows… you might just discover your new favourite sport! 🤺

Congratulations to everyone who competed in today’s Under 20 Mixed Foil & Epee competition! 🤺
It was a day filled with excitement, challenges, a few surprises, and the occasional dose of competition chaos. That’s the beauty of fencing — competition gives us the opportunity to test our abilities against others. Until we step onto the piste and put ourselves under pressure, we never truly know what we’re capable of.
Club competitions are about much more than results. They are a chance to learn, grow, try new things, and build confidence as fencers. Every bout is an opportunity to improve, whether you finish on the podium or not.
It was fantastic to see so many of our fencers competing today, supporting one another, and embracing the challenge. To those who weren't competing, thank you for helping make the event run smoothly.
Competition Results:
Under 20 Mixed Foil
🥇- Aldo
🥈- Pia
🥉= Dougal + Fraser
Under 20 Mixed Epee

🥈- Willow
🥉= Pia + Zavier
Well done everyone. Keep training, keep learning, and most importantly, keep enjoying the journey.
